We tried all four PRIME drink flavours Checkers sells

Checkers launched the PRIME “hydration drink” line of beverages to much fanfare on Monday, with each 500ml bottle selling for R39.99.

PRIME grabbed headlines in mid-April when well-known broadcasters Leanne Manas and Anele Mdoda posted on Twitter about kids pestering their parents about it, and its high domestic price.

The only thing that set this apart from any other generic energy drink is how hard people fell for that price anchoring.

Don't know who the bigger suckers are. The people who bought into the strategy or the people who dropped up to a grand a bottle on it.

I saw an article where they were going for a grand a bottle at one point. All based on the Logan Paul and KSI hype train.

In my view, people are making this too much about Logan and KSI. They are brand ambassadors and may have a 20% stake in the brand, but Congo brands do have a consistent pricing strategy aligned with their respective brands,

Prime Energy - $29.99 (12 pack)

Prime Hydration - $29.99 (12 pack)

Alani Nu Energy - $29.99 (12 pack)

Their 3D Energy varies, and is sold directly on Amazon, priced anywhere between $24.00-$43.00 (12 packs).

Yes, scarcity is being exploited, but you either need to be mad or a crypto bro to pay a grand.

I was going through the 3D Energy reviews on Amazon and this is what one person rated,

he still gave them 5. 2,104 ratings 4.5 stars... Those who do complain are concerned with the price increase and getting headaches. I am pretty sure that all Congo Brands products are more or less the same, but are set apart by varying in packaging and taste. $29.99 (12-pack) is not expensive in the USA.

Sure but a large chunk of the people who bought this stuff whether at a grand or for 40 bucks only bought it because of the influencers. I guarantee there were a whole bunch of idiots flashing Prime bottles flooding social media for the status

I agree, it is not an obsession that I understand. I do think that the online social sphere is ballooning, it is incredibly niche to be recognised. Those who are in the mind that they are someone, authoritative, it is not in touch with the analytics. I pity some people, what would they be without online social interaction? Mentally, it can be exhausting because not all connections are genuine, and realising this may have consequences.

Kids are becoming drones, and so they will grow into adult drones. It is applicable to older generations too, but we weren’t all born in this technologically driven cycle.

Anyhow, gone OT, all I am getting at is that we are all products, most being lesser than others. The conversion rate is insane; marketers love it.

Bought 2 flavours to taste. They are very sweet and to a point of not tasting nice. The taste stayed in my mouth for about 20 minutes its so strong. I have unsubscribed that prime. Its just feel like hype.
