Hi i am currently having a problem where multiple print servers needs to be reset through the day to print the computers are all still online but the servers seem ti lose the connection and i need to power off the print servers. Any help i have put all these servers on static and paired the mac address with there ip but still DC.

Have you looked to see that there are not conflicting IP addresses?
Explain further what you mean by go down?
Do they lose all network connectivity or are they still connected but just refuse to print?
Chilligirl doesnt have a bad suggestion, especially since you are on statics, have you excluded this range from your dhcp scope?

I do not have ip conflict i have the servers on static so it keeps the IP the same and its assign together Mac and IP i do have netwok because all other computers are still connected how ever somes i can ping it from dos and not from Unix Aix.

No i have to power it down to get it back online but sometimes this does not help or it seems i have to leave it off longer now to get it back. And it disconnects so every hour or i think its more when it not been active for some time but it has always worked fine like i could leave it over night and would print in the morning could it possibly be the Anti virus.

Check for conficker virus. Might be you're infected.

There are strains of malware out there which attacks the server and workstation services in Windows, and stops them.
Had an issue like that last week, fortunately no serious damage was done. Just restart the server and workstation services, do a full scan on your network/shares, AND scan other Windows PC's for malware.

Doesn't make sense - it means somebody else is using the same IP.
thought that as well, he possibly means after reboot?
As i suggested, check ur dhcp scope and make sure you have excluded the ip's from tthat scope
possbily even remove the device from the network and connect to it directly once it is no longer responding.
See if it responds when directly connected to ur laptop/?
As suggested check error logs (depending on platform it is running there will be different locations to check)
Possibly do a dump on the interfaces and see what kind of network activity is happenin, if any.
AS Lib suggested, check the services are running correctly,
possibly just restart services instead of rebooting?

If you can ping the IP, then try to remote desktop/VNC/telnet/SSH in to said PC

Go into the BIOS and turn off the sleep functionality.
I have done the DHCP scope and i can plug the server in another network cable check it with the same ip which is static and all seem ok when i put it back to the printer it works but only for a short while its like it goes to a sleep mode which never happened before i am currently looking at a possible virus but none of the actual workstation computers does this.
If your print server is beind a firewall, also check that. We are having the same issue where I work and its our firewall

unless ur fw admins have a sick sense of humour, i doubt its the firewall...
They would not be changing rules randomly on this device/segment throughout the day..
especially since it works on reboot, its highly unlikely the firewall is dropping the traffic
