"Printer cartridge scam"

Apparently not.

Got a call from a guy trying to send me the "balance" on a two year old order. Apparently Haltrex is under new management .

Probably a new trick - saying the agreement was before the CPA - so it doesn't apply

so just re-package it and return it.

We did tape up the box. What I meant was the Post Office is refusing to do a return-to-sender and expect us to pay for the postage to send it back.

Curiosity killed the cat, eh?

The driver/delivery guy picked it up and there wasn't any "from" company name on it, just a postal address so we had to open it find out what was inside.

When I get a call for payment I'm gonna lose it

Why dont you guys just mail Haltrex, tell them they sent you stuff by mistake, and can collect it at their leisure and own expense? Refuse to take responsibility for it. You didnt order it, and wont pay for it.

Wasn't there a thing in the CPA where if they don't collect it within a certain time its yours for free?

Not sure about that. What puzzles me is that the guys running this scam have not been arrested yet.

CPA only applies to contracts concluded after 1st April, 2011.
This relates to a supposed "order" or "contract" from before that Date, although AirWolf will no doubt dispute that they ever agreed to anything about receiving more cartridges.

No sense you getting upset over it. Just toss the cartridges in a corner, and when they call for payment just tell them politely that you never ordered the stuff and it is waiting there for them to come and collect the unwanted goods. If they threaten to take you to court, say that's fine you will meet them in court where you will hand the unwanted and unused cartridges back to them.

Send them an email and a registered letter stating that they must collect wrongfully delivered stock within 60 days or it will be destroyed, ignore any further demands from them or refer them to the email/letter (make a standard email response and just copy and paste it to them each time they try to get money off you again).

There's a thread on avforums.co.za where another attempted victim started charging them for storage, and then sent a lawyer after them to recover the costs (and eventually got rid of them and the cartridges)

ROFL!

Love it :) Need more people like this, reminds me of scam baiters.

Has anyone ever had the big bad "legal action" against them? Where can I sign up to receive free cartridges every month?

LOL. Loved this. Should have done the same when I received an unknown order of printer cartridges about a year ago, instead of just rejecting it.
