Problem with pop3 server

Hi

I've got a strange problem when my mail server download mail from our service provider.It's an on/off problem.
When i ping the pop3 server the following happens.

Reply from 69.64.36.191 []
Reply from 69.64.36.191
Request timed out []
Request timed out
Reply from 69.64.36.191
Request timed out
Reply from 69.64.36.191
Reply from 69.64.36.191
Reply from 69.64.36.191

Request timed out

Everything else is working fine.

Our service provider say it's not their problem, and Telkom adsl "support" say its our service providers fault.

Have anyone else experience something like this?[?]

Jeeezzzz dude! That mail server might as well be on Mars. The connections is terrible. I think the problem lies somewhere in the US. More detail please, this is interesting...

Hi

Our service provider is mjvnet and the in America.(pop3.mjvn.co.za)
SMTP works fine.
We also reached our 3gig cap.
