Some accounts are not locked as they are used for support...

Other accounts are locked to multiple utid's ... like mine.

For the most part the locking mechanism should be in place.

Not running at the same time - Halicon

The Helpdesk told me that
you can use two UTDs on the same account
- 26/5/2005

Anyways ignoring that...

Mine might be locked to a certain range but definately not to one UTDid.

Reasoning: me/interprise guy: my user/pass worked with his UTD and mine. His user/pass worked with my UTD and his.

Maybe locked within the interprise range of UTDid then. But still a fellow interprise user could hack my user/password and use my bandwidth. Maybe I think in your case a fellow tradepage user could do the same slim;) Ask tradepage?

As for your question of why you cannot log in ... its probably coz they know your UTDid and have locked it to one account coz you appear liek no 1 on most unwanted 'network abusers' --- according to em. - just a silly thought and I really hope its not true for your sake.

If you bought one acc from tradepage and one from wbs or other - there could be a prob.

nah i wanted a UTD at work and at home cuz i didnt feel like carrying the thing to and fro... there is just something about having more bandwidth then the entire company where i work on my desk :D

but then i am also wondering is it possible to vpn from work into my home machine cuz once in a blue moon iburst decides to disconnect... not often but it does.

is there a way to do this without knowing what your ip is? i am no networking genius... in fact i hate networks and everything to do with networks but thas beside the point :)

Yes, DynDNS, if you run a SmoothWall or IPCop firewall box, they can do the DynDNS updating automagically whenever your iBurst IP address changes...or you can run an app on Windoze...

My router has the feature to do this... it talks to DynDns's website so all I did was create an account there :D

As for the strange bandwidth reports, ever since I got the router my reports have been inaccurate and sent irregularly. I presume this is to do with the fact that I never drop the connection because the router keeps it connected.

Yup. Same setup this side. DynDNS Updater runs in my tray, and automatically updates DynDNS. Works nicely.

No longer receiving bandwidth usage report emails, why???

I have just noticed that I no longer appear to be receiving bandwidth usage report emails...am I the only one?

I logged-in to double check the settings on helpdesk.wbs.co.za and it is still set to send them...

Anyone else not getting these emails anymore [that should be getting them]?

same here. no b/w reports. Maybe IBurst have realised they can make more/faster 'fake' profit by not letting customers keep a sharp eye on their b/w usage - and presumably shaving off customers own b/w storage - so that people hit their caps faster (and thus will hopefully purchase extra b/w faster, or be switched sooner to the cheaper (for IBurst) 64k pipe..?)

I've been fed the story from IBurst insiders that out of an alleged 6000 subscribers, there's only between 20 - 60 'power users' - everyone else is supposedly quite happy.

(Note my use of the words 'I've been fed the story' - as just coz I'm told this unofficially, doesn't mean its actual truth.) Statistically speaking, this figure is unlikely to be reality.
