I have asked these questions on the vodacom site. I also notice that when I phone 155 now, I get a recorded message that there is a current problem with GPRS - no mention of 3G...

People, we need to drive this issue through Vodacom, and I believe going public with it. Anyone agree? We need answers at least. I'm not even going to be able to use my data bundle this month - are they going to reimburse me or roll it over to next month? I doubt it.

It is pretty public already, but it seems that vodacom is slipping big time. I have a few friends here in Rustenburg who are also experiencing the 619 error. So it seems that vodacom has a massive problem brewing and we are the first casualties in a huge drop out on the horizon.

I agree fully! I have given up phoning Vodacom to report errors since it is the same responce everytime: 'You query is being forwaraded to a techie and they will get back to you' - rubbish! I am still waiting for this dude to call me and it is now a month later!

The HSDPA/3G service seemd to be worknig fine for the past two weeks in my area (PTA - Moreletta Park), but since the beginning of this week I have contant 619 errors and are only able to stay connected for a few minutes.

WTF!!! I am paying for this - and now that I am tied to a two year contract with Nashua Mobile, I have to live with this and waste my money because the service is useless!

Vodacom should get their act together or allow me to cancel and terminate my contract. I refuse to pay for something I cannot use. They should have informed me I was going to be a test platform when I signed up!

Been holding on 155 for 10 minutes

Last time I called them I had to hold on for 1 hour before hanging up, pretty pathetic service they are giving.

I am on the west coast in Langebaan and am also getting 619 error today. The worst I have ever had it, I can't connect at all. Vodacom can I bill you for lost business?

Since I swapped my 3G to HSDPA card I have been getting more and more of these errors.

155 has no answer!

Try 2 hours...and eventually had to hang up the call since my cellphone battery ran out...

Since I swapped my 3G to HSDPA card I have been getting more and more of these errors.

I've had the opposite experience - my connection has been better since I swapped out (last week Friday).

It may just be timing. Most of June I couldn't connect on 3G (619, 619, 619, 619), the last week on HSDPA has been better.

I have tried to connect today, so I'm not sure what its like for me at the moment.

Agreed - Stability did improve with the new HSDPA card, but then again, that only lasted for a while. What I want is a constant and stable service! I am being billed the same every month, so I want the same service every month...or can vodacom start billing us less as the sevice quality starts getting worse?

Abso-bloody-lutely!!
One is paying premium bucks (read $$$) for HSDPA and then you cant even connect to it.
And they tie you down for 2 years!!

Can one give the data cards and stuff back for non-performance or non-deliverance of service???

Hi there

The most annoying problem is Vodacom's silence. This is unacceptable. I wouldn't be suprised if the newspapers get hold of this soon. I wonder how Mr Branson is going to respond - VM is depending on this service too.

You were lucky! I signed up for the 36 month bundle with the laptop. Up until June this year I didn't regret the decision, and even recommended it to friends and colleagues.

Thanks vodacom, I feel like a p*eph*l now!

Could not connect to GPRS last night.

Called 155 and used the call back function.

After a while the call was returned - and I was informed they were having problems and offered to let me know by SMS when the service is restored.

The service seems to be working, but I'm still waiting for the SMS.
