Try 2 hours...and eventually had to hang up the call since my cellphone battery ran out...

Ouch, I won't be able to hold for 2 hours!

But I am on a standard 3g card, so it is not confined to either HSDPA or vanilla-3G users. I wonder if this is a product of Vodacom screwing up the network while trying to test their 3.6mb/s options. :p

u really expected them to send u the sms? what a joke... but then again, despite being equal if not better than first world countries in terms of mobile tech, we lack the ability to keep our networks up... VODACOM, what are you doing, when everyone had free web on vlive we never even had this much problems... why nw? do u have more paying members now than you did leechers back then when it was free? BS

I wonder, it would be funny if there was a DeeDee (from dexters lab) going through all the network configs and saying "Ooooo, what does this button do!" and then taking down the network for a while, while the operators go "Eish...." :D

PP - yup - all morning 619 and now it works !
I had some 619s last evening and now this morning.
Another thing to get used to. Luckily HSDPA isn't my only connection and subsequently Vodacom isn't the only mobile network I use. ;)

My connection seems to be holding, it has been going for about 2 hours now. I am not gonna try a reconnect for fear of the 619 swear word! So we will see if the connection stays up. If it is dropped, well, we will see how the reconnect works. :p

"Glad" I am not alone.

I have terrible connectivity with WAP (which uses GPRS). I can almost tell the time with the connection - GPRS down? Must be around 3pm. Every day this week...

I am considering getting a data card for when I am on the road, but at this rate it seems useless.

Also, Vodacoms silence on this forum / thread is telling.

Working fine for me using the internetvpn apn but not on internet apn. If you are setup for internetvpn, try changing to that.

Glad to know I'm missed.

Firstly, thanks ic, for the sms. I'm currently in a meeting but at least can now test my new Vaio....

We're busy deploying new technology in the network, to provide some new products (hint) and it caused instabilty. They've now rolled back so everything should be stable again. Not sure why it took so long to roll back, will find out.

That's a bit rough, don't you think?

Vodacom always strives to give quick and accurate info on the forum, without trying to BS anyone.

Trying to hide from a problem, ignoring it or pretending it does not exist is just plain silly and is not going to help anyone. So we don't do it, simple.

Hmm, I can connect at last (spent the whole morning thinking it was my MAC connection with the problem.

Can connect with 9300 (EDGE/GPRS) don't know which, but my 3G 6680 is still struggling

I knew it!!! Vodacom + new technology = network instability!
So, will the 1.8mb/s service price be decreased then?

on with Vodacom GPRS

hi everyone did manage to get on to Voda GPRS at about 12h00 - Edenvale, JHB - will now try with Virgin account

is it true that the Virgin service is cascaded down from the Vodacom network throught Cell C; ie are all Virgin subcribers loading the Cell C network, and the Cell C subscribers loading the Voda network?

nice business model - shure the bottom line didn't hurt for Voda - love to see those contracts too

anyone with info on any of the above pse post references or mail me - LETS STOP THE COVER UPS
