Won't use their asap service..I've been going instore since PnP and FNB joined forces..That 10% extra is not worth the hassle

I have also had way more issues with PnP ASAP! than with Checkers60 deliveries, and the same sorts of issues where it takes weeks for issues to be resolved (although they are usually resolved fine eventually).

Their discount codes make it quite tempting to order from them though.

Recently they have stopped delivering to my address, the past 3 orders (or so) seem normal but just never get delivered, there's no reason that I can figure out, so I just stopped ordering with ASAP. Checkers60 and Spar2U still working well.

No one is dictating anything ... it is a choice to receive 30% off your grocery bill. We've also made the switch and dislike using PnP ASAP. Checkers Sixty/60 was better. Later delivery times. Always on time.

PnP ASAP delivery times are longer. Products not always in stock. Missed items. They way they charge you is in a roundabout way. It only gets settled days later. Not a fan of PnP ASAP.

PnP is known for bad quality. I once saw vacuum packed meat that had a few bite marks out of it - most likely from some pest. Took it out of the open display fridge and gave it to a manager, explained the issue. He walked right back to the fridge and put it back.

Since moving over on eB to PnP we have used ASAP three times.
Overall quite satisfied with the experience.

Pros:
  • The actual products were cheaper than at Checkers. That's a good start. Checkers has become rather expensive.
  • 30% eB rate
Cons:
  • Slower delivery times than 60/60. Had to wait on average about an hour longer. So it's good when you don't desperately need something, but in cases of emergency shopping not recommended.
I cannot comment on product variety. We use the usuals products and nothing specialized. Don't trust either of PnP or Checkers with fresh meat and veg which we rather get from local SuperSpar and FLM which are way better quality and cheaper than Checkers and PnP.

This is an opinion piece actually. I recveived more rotten meat from Checkers Sixty Sixty but never from PnP Asap so the experience is dependent on the store just like fast food outlets.

They really mess up my order but the person before me got the best service.

How are you people living that the time it takes to deliver groceries is an issue? I just order once my pants are off and I know I won’t be leaving the house any time soon.

Actually the same, plus the pies are better from pnp than checkers.

I've also had multiple problems with Asap. Wrote about some of them in the eBucks thread a while back.

Had to contact support quite a few times by now. No wonder they can't get back to everyone with all the problems they have.

I'm disappointed with Pick n Pay ASAP's service, which often takes over 30 minutes to start preparing orders and frequently delays deliveries beyond the promised 60-minute window. In contrast, Checkers sixty60 delivers within the hour and provides better communication about stock availability and potential delays. I wish Pick n Pay ASAP would improve their operational efficiency and customer service. For now, I'm staying due to free delivery promo codes and occasional discounts, but the service issues have left me feeling dissatisfied.

The problem is not the ASAP service. The problem is your local PnP. If your in store PnP experience sucks where they sell expired goods, then the same store staff will take items off the shelf and put it in your order. The e-bike drivers make not difference as they are independent.

Thank you for the article, very informative. The biggest thing I take away from this though is that people do not really change where they buy from just because of a delivery service problem. Lets hope that PnP gets their act together. Personally I go in store for 99% of my purchases, only using the delivery option as a real last resort.

I changed to ASAP and have had 5 deliveries of groceries so far. Everything has been fine. Zero issues on my side to date.
