Programming DSTV remote for Sony TV

I have tried to program both my DS and HD PVR remotes to work woth my Sony Bravia (KLV 40V550A) TV but with no success.

I used the following sequence:
Press SHIFT
3 blinks
enter code = 00000
accept

Where am I going wrong?

If you can't get it right just use the learning function, there can't be many buttons you need

I got the same TV and it worked fine, make sure that the dial on the remote is not set to A or B.
