May I just say, I LOVE THAT LOGO.

It would even work as a wallpaper image
 
Just a suggestion. Maybe you could change the picture part of the logo to something more "South African" if you know what I mean?

That is actualy the ancient gutano tribe's "moon festival" logo, started by the african tribes of the early 1300's, to show their love for Africa, Sacrificial cerimony's, the "Xbento" or "Bull from the East", that was a major part of their hunting, food and clothing. their spear's tips were coated with Xbento blood, and at night, they...ok, who am I kiding - i'll make it more african....:o

Personally I love the current logo. Pooky why do you want it to be "South African"?

It was just a personal taste thing. It looks a bit asian for me....



....maybe a one with pink lighting too plsplspls?:p

Na Pooky I think I shall just stick with making Linobuntu. A project like this takes a lot of time and work.

Read the Linobuntu blog which will detail some of the steps used to create your own distro.

sorry mate. do what Linoman said - read the links he gave you and start pookobuntu/pookybuntu.
 
Linobuntu Alpha 0.0.1 is expected to be completed by the end of today. Please note the Alpha builds until 0.0.4 will be internal tests only.

Will post screenshots of 0.0.1 when it is complete

PS anyone know where I can upload some of these ISO's when they are complete? In South Africa
 
To note, at the moment there will only be one version of Linobuntu. Which includes some restricted software.

Note the following:

If you use Linobuntu, due to the fact it includes restricted software to allow multimedia playback. You must agree to the following, if not then do not use it.

1) The legal restrictions do not apply in your country.
2) You have permission to use the software, an official license.
3) You using this software for research purposes only.

However there will also be a version released without these restrictions.

This version does not have

a) Google Earth
b) Picasa
c) Pulse Audio Controls
d) Envy
e) A customized version of Grub
f) Dvd support and java.
g) Improved Gnome Menu

Those additions are planned for Alpha v 2 and 3. Note Google Earth may not be included. Thus it will not be added.
