Unfortunately it all boils down to one thing.....money. If you remove form the world ppl wont have a reason to sell thier bodies, we wont even have reason to sell our time as workers. In theory we are all being abused except those at the top who earn money by using ppl which includes your boss.

I believe its morally wrong to pay for sex, at the same time theres ppl who need that service ( a basic human need, like water ) and cant get it easily. Business 101, you need a to fill a need and thats where a prostitute comes in, a prostitute can be male or female.

Once you become a prostitute I believe you no longer care for your body which again is a choice. Theres no harm in anyone paying for sex as long as both parties get what was asked for, women even offer thier services in order to get higher up the working ladder.

I think as long as another human isn't hurt in the process then its legally fine. Strip the capitalist system away and there wont be a need to sell sex.

I've been thinking of starting an escort agency which is legal by the way, and if these women want to sell themselves, I dont see a problem with me helping them do that.

I didnt wanna respond in this thread again (the selfish evil morality of the mykkk conservative right often pisses me off), but this question is of a different nature. So to answer ya:

All over the place. Some were very aggressive in your face fk the world kinda personalities. These girls like to play and party hard.

Some were more quiet and simple girls. They have no skills.. speak very simply .. and make ends meet with their jobs... their goals in life are very much inline with the way they think.

I never came across a teary weepy girl that shied away. Most of these girls seemed to know how to put men in their place.

Some girls are pretty normal.. like having sex and do it for the easy money.

If there was any low self esteem it was hidden behind a "Gotta do what I gotta do to put food in front of my kids" kinda face.

Oh.. and you also got the complete psychotic nutjob kind.

A lot also depended on where you went to speak to them. The nice upmarket places had healthy looking girls full of smiles and a glint in their eyes if you brought out money. The seedier places tended to be filled with crackheads and street walkers who got a glint in their eyes if they saw a beer.

LOL. By that logic, anyone who is either incapable of having children or does not want to have children should be banned from sexual relationships with those who can have and want children since a union between the two would serve no biological purpose.

The links to organised crime you speak of are a direct result of the sex trade being an underground activity. As I mentioned before, if you make a service a crime, only criminals will provide that service.

Decriminalisation does not change that, it worsens it.

I don't think they do it because it's their calling/dream job. They do it because they feel they have no other choice.

Just a small point here. They may not do it because it is there dream job, but they may do it because it is a better paying job.
I.E. single mom 1 or 2 kids to support, husband dies/leaves and she is left with a house to pay a family to support and her only skills are say reception work that pays R5000 - R8000 p/m, after tax and all the other bills education clothing food, travel costs, she comes out with almost nothing at the end of each month.
Now as a sex worker/callgirl/escort, she could make the same money in 1 night tax-free, and only have to work 1 day per week for a salary 4 times what she had previously, no more monetary worries, her kids have food, clothing a substantial educational fund and her entire family now has a better standard of living.
Having met 1 or 2 women in this situation, i can say they werent unhappy doing what they did.

You're talking about violence, exploitation, child involvement, slavery, addiction, rape, drugs etc. etc. etc. which are criminal acts punishable by existing laws. As for the other comment i made about business transactions. Someone made a comment about it just being a business transaction. So i compared it to child slavery since that is also a business transaction. What makes the one okay and the other not? Sex for money is fine but children for money isn't? What is the difference is all i want to know? I'm trying to have a discussion and see where your perspective lies. Instead i am just getting attacked for my own moral belief system. I should be open to other people's views yet nobody seems very open to mine.

I was in no way attacking your morality. I was merely pointing out that banning something like prostitution from a moral perspective is wrong. I apologize if my post came across as condescending. That was certainly not my intention.

Also, the child issue is irrelevant. We are not talking about people being forced into things by others who wield more power. This will not affect anyone's personal life in any way. It is there for two consenting adults. Why even mention activities where non-consensual activities and crimes are involved? It has nothing to do with this argument.
