PS3 Controller Charger Cable

Hi guys

I went a bit overboard on the weekend and bought a PS3 and pandora's box as well as that extra controller special that comes with two games. Much to my dismay, the second controller does not come with a charging cable. Does anyone know a shop that stocks it? (besides online - I know take2 have it but I'd like to purchase it tomorrow)

I've tried incredible connection/musica/looknlisten and CNA with no luck.

you can buy a normal mini usb cable at any computer shop. it should cost about R50. Otherwise most places that sell a PS3 will also sell an original cable but would cost about R150

Does that mean your first controller has a cable. You only need one and it should be included in the box (if not then take it back).
Otherwise, the cable is just a USB on one side and a firewire (or it looks like a firewire) - similar to input you find on Nokia phones.
 
The "charging" cable is USB to mini-USB (not firewire; even the new Nokias have mini-USB).

You can find them at pretty much any store that sells camera's, computer equipment, etc.

Game, Dion Wired, Makro, Incredible Connection, Computer Corporation, Musica, Look n Listen, CNA, etc. All will have it. Don't bother with the branded cable; it's a waste of money.
 
You generally won't be charging both at the same time? Otherwise, get a 'docking' charger that takes both controllers and uses one usb port.
 
Thanks for all the posts. Indeed my first controller came with a cable. I unpacked my PS3 last night and wanted to game with my SO - but because both controllers are new, they both needed charging - hence my reason for wanting another cable. Turns out my nokia n91 came with a mini-USB to USB cable so I just used that.

I am pretty bummed to learn that the PS3 doesn't come with a HDMI cable but I just used the one that my bluray player uses.

I'd go back and shout at the guy who sold it to you. It's like those a-holes at Incredible Connection who sell you a printer without the USB cable...

Whats it got to do with the store (RE: PS3) - AFAIK - the PS3 doesn't come with a HDMI cable.
 
Yup, no point in blaming the store.
Its sony that decided to not include it in the box.
 
LOL. Looks like some PS3 owners have no clue. Like PS3 is the first ever electronic app they bought that exceeded R500.

Well the salesman should know (if he's responsible for selling electronic devices such as gaming consoles, printers etc) what extras need to be bought espeically when you won't be able to use the device properly without it.

And neither the Xbox or PS3 come with HDMI cables anymore.
