PS3 for R2299!

But how does that work? The specials are only valid for a certain period? Say I go to a hypermarket tomorrow, what would I say? "Give me a rain cheque please, call me when you have stock"?
 
It does not make any sense to allow it when the advertisement says stock is limited, which usually means whatever they currently have available. If it is a matter of getting current stock from one location to another that would be different.
 
+1 for everyone sticking it to Game. I recently also had a run in with them regarding their price-beat policy.

Glad to see everyone is taking a stand; I've heard of too many other people who took "no" for an answer.

they make out a cheque and they suposed to call you some times they dont, any way if you in the store and the product is there you give the cheque in when paying supervisor gets called, they authorise and you get it at special price, my wife does this every time there is a sale and stuff is out of stock, so i know it works.

Dude, I'd like to give you a massive thanks.
The vrou called so many PnP's this morning (Friday), some said no stock, others said checking. When one store called back, she didnt know who from where but the friendly sales guy reserved one for her, when she got there with her trolley, he greeted her by her name without she even uttering a word.
It was at Kollonade and she got (I think the last 1).

I say massive thanks cos its been on my wish list since before it came out.

I also purchased Fifa 10 from Kalahari last week at R366.65, also came today. what a brilliant bargain of a day and once again THANK YOU ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE

I tried the rain cheque at Hypermarket ottery...they wouldn't go for it....managed to get a unit @ Game for R2149 on price beat...

Strange, I've never had any problems getting Game to honour it. They obviously won't if the competitor does not have stock.

so to try out my new low cost ps3 today i got resistance 1 & 2, madden 08 and uncharted 1 & 2 (all for 1k)

BTW the various updates for PSN tooook hours but its pretty cool walking around and whatnot.....may have to cancel xbox live now:whistle:
 
looks like im the only one who wasn't able to get one. *cries in corner*

onlly if you can find a picknpay with stock...try some of the remote ones - klerksdorp is the one that did it for me...

oh yeh, and prepare for a fight, some Game stores don't give in, a buddy of mine went to Game Greenstone and they point blank refused saying there is no stock at any PNP when there still was....he just gave up without a fight

Seems to be a recent thing...

In my case, the other store had stock, but the Game refused to call to confirm it.

I was in Game Brooklyn today, and I saw a lady was having similar woes with the salespeople there.
 
I want to mirror the sentiments of the other poster earlier.

Thank you, OP, for linking to the ad. Got my PS3 late on Friday night. Had a friend in Bloem go and buy one for me and he sent it to me.
 
was this special only for friday?

my brother went to pick 'n pay ottery today and they still had a number of non-bundled 120gb ps3s, but they told him the R2299 special was for Friday only, the ps3s are now selling for normal price. I just want to confirm if they lied.
