PS3 pricing (and Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD)

92 inch screen :eek:.....

You are one of the few people in the country who can really appreciate Blu-Ray or HD-DVD technology.. I am truly jealous.

NoADSL: If you don't post facts you are trolling. According to the electronics experts the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are pretty much on par with each other. While the Cell processor is great for number crunching it falls a bit short in branching. The 360 also has more RAM which is a great advantage to developers...

If you also managed to get your ....... long enough you will see that I don't belittle anyones posts. I give a view point and back it up. I am a great fan of the PS3 since they dropped the backwards compatibility and I am very happy that this HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray was is finished.

When the Nappy army attacked me :D I mentioned the facts. i.e. Included in the PS3 console is a Blu-RAy player, you can even watch Bly ray Movies with it. Really thats a fact. The Xbox have as yet nothing to compete and if the HD player is released it will cost you a ton. Then that brings the original cost of the old PS3 back in line with the "competition". The new trimmed down version blows it away! The Blu-Ray player is top market technology and was for the SONY PS3 the first mass produced Blu-Ray player on the market. Thats a fact and you cannot deny it. The PS3 is now a HD device, TOP market, the XBox is not. Its just a games console and a cheap one at that too. The WII is worth more. The PS3 has better graphics too I believe! So please instead of opening anothe Xbox v PS3 mudsliging thread YOU post facts!
PS BTW To buy the Xbox just to play HAlo is stupid! Like with Blu-Ray the PS3 will win the mass war just as PS2 did with the OLD XBox. The old PS2 sells like hot cakes atm because of price and avaiability. The PS3 have Sony backup that will make it win. Do not take my word for it Look in clasifieds and see how many 360's is already for sale!

I posted some of your rhetoric belittling against Pitbull yesterday in response to and the Mods deleted the post. I wonder why because that thread is still running restating everything about the closed thread and that is now OK. No yes you always belittle someone to stroke your own ego Unfortunately. What in what I stated was wrong apart from the fact it opposes your view.

The original Xbox was not competing directly against the PS2 as the PS2 had been out a lot longer and had a much bigger catalogue.

The 360 has the main game developers backing it and seriously telling someone to look in the classifieds is not very scientific.... There are more Toyotas for sale then Ferrari's.. which one is better?

AND I see no facts offered by you too for backup apart from your perceptions in your statements as is mine!

XBox Live trumps the PS3s online service though :D. But we've had this discussion wayyy back when so it's really no use bringing it up now again.

Yeah You see, Just typical... Read the Topic header. The question was asked and I responded. (Way back then was when the Nappy army attacked :D Not?) Anyway How can they be in the same league IF PS3 have a included technology advanced Blu-Ray player and the XBox not. So you also like to dodge the question of justified pricing for advanced included technology! Compare Apples with Apples Fanboi!

Except when it comes to the added advanced technology part that makes the Blu-Ray player worth it and of course more advanced as I stated. Still ignoring the fact!

Nice contradictions there. You call for facts but make a baseless assumptions while providing no evidence.

To set the record straight the 360 possesses a custom made ATI (known for better image quality) GPU based on the new unified shader architecture that all new GPU's now possess. The PS3 on the other hand is stuck with a 7800 based GPU with older non-unified architecture and will likely continue to bottleneck any performance gains achieved from Cell.

Regards to Graphics there is peeps on both sides of the fence as per the Nvidia, and now defunct, ATI cum (literally) AMD hardware issues.

PS3/Nvidia will prevail, Because of Sony (Think and see PS2). Well Xbox/AMTI? Well no bets!

Justified how? Millions buy consoles to play games and do not care for HD video capabilities. Is it justified to make them pay a massive premium for something they don't want? No it is not. Hence the separation of the HD-DVD unit from MS's gaming console.

Once again, proof please? Looking at the specs it is quite obvious which GPU is superior. If you cannot see that and implications of which you have no business discussing hardware.

Yes people buy consoles for games BUT they should actually look at what they are getting. The PS3 is better value for money at te end of the day. Microsoft should release a external Blu-ray player for the Xbox 360. Don't know if that can happen but it sure would make things interesting.

Nothing stopping Bill from doing that, there's even an article that speculates that that'll be MS' next move if HD-DVD does go down.

So if I need to buy a car to get me from point A to point B only I should purchase a large truck because I'll get more features for my money? Never mind the fact that I have no need to move heavy loads and am perhaps unwilling to spend that much money?
