PS3 vs XBOX360

Bold is PS3 exclusive, red is critically acclaimed
So what? People raved about Gears of War and Halo. As far as I'm concerned they're both overhyped and nothing special.

do NOT come close to matching them, in number, in aggregate score, in brand power or in playability
None of those things really mean anything as a general rule.

Yup one console to rule them all, so you are indicating that on those 3 or 4 exclusives alone he should go PS3 when the multiplatform games perform better on the 360, which are the meat and bones of console games, for multiplatform games i will get it on the 360 unless they mention a better platform which is generally rare. Yes the exclusives on the PS3 are great fun, but they are not what are played the most.

Eish, give it a rest already. To the OP, my advice, don't buy a console. There is a slim chance you might become a fanboi and rant more about pointless facts on a forum instead of enjoying the games.

Yup rather get a PC and have healthy debates about AMD, Nvidia and Intel ;-)

What general rule is this? Obviously the exclusive games mean a lot. Why else would I have bought a PS3?

There are more than 3 or 4 exclusives worth buying a PS3 for, and you're talking rubbish.

Of the PS3's top 20 best selling games, 75% are PS3 exclusives. 45% of the top 20 best selling Xbox 360 games are exclusives. Obviously the exclusives are a big deal to console owners.

There are a handful of multiplatform games that don't look as good on PS3 (Mafia for example), but for the most part the differences are negligible. I rate Burnout Paradise, Mirror's Edge and GTA 4 look better on PS3. The Crysis 2 developers have said the game looks marginally better on PS3. There will always be a few games leaning towards each console graphically.

Many people play PS3 exclusives a lot, my friends and myself included. Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet, WipEout HD, MW2 and FIFA 11 are by far the most played multiplayer games out of all my PSN and real life friends.

Can anyone honestly tell me I'm a deluded fanboy and I didn't present a decent argument in favour of the PS3?

You're a deluded fanboi because you continuously ignore the ps3's flaws - install times, install sizes, worse gameplay the xbox on most titles (to name a few)

OP doesn't care about your argument... he wanted your opinion and he's gotten enough of it over the past 8 pages. This is the problem with fanboi's they won't drop the subject and carry on until the thread is dead or locked

Metacritic agrees with my praise of these games

ROFLMAO, and wikipedia agrees with my thoughts on science

Red dead Redemption, MW 2 and Fifa 11 are not exclusives, also GTA4 was rated to look better and run better on the Xbox 360, Burnout Paradise is negligible at best on both, Mirrors Edge was the same. I suggest you go and browse PS3 and Xbox 360 face offs where the PS3 might win about 2 out of 5 or so games. Good place to start is here

Also on the top ten best selling games via platform 6 out of 10 games were 360 Exclusives with Halo 3 being the top seller with 8.1 million copies sold, the PS3 top 10 had 7 Sony exclusives with it's top seller being Call of Duty 4 MW2 with 4.82 million copies sold, with the Sony exclusive GT5 Prologue coming in second with 4.65 Million copies sold so yes they might have 70% of their exclusives sold over the Xbox 360's 60% if you look at the top 10's but the 360 has definitely sold more of it's exclusive then Sony has. Also Multiplatform is still better on the 360 then on the PS3 you know how I know this? I own both consoles and I play on them regularly, yes I had my 360 first so the game collection is bigger but I still have a PS3, I could even throw in a bit about Nintendo cause guess what I have a Wii too, so how about you just shout your fanboyisims and just understand the PS3 is not the only console out there and you praising it endlessly is getting old while there is still a direct competitor. This isn't the era of the PS2 anymore, this is a true HD console battle and each console has to win on merits, but it's cool I'll go back to playing whatever game I want and not have to worry about oh my console is L337 cause it has Uncharted.

Are you a complete moron? How often do you need to install a game? Hardly ever. Most PS3's have large hdd's, a few gigs at most isn't a big deal. What worse gameplay?

OP does care about my argument, because it makes sense and because I was in his position a few months ago. I can't drop the subject because no one flippin' responds to what I say and I keep having to deal with new superfluous arguments.

Metacritic can't be edited like Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not an aggregate view about any given topic, and Wikipedia is often wrong. Most of the music textbook supplied by the government for matric a few years ago was copied straight off Wikipedia and had so many errors we didn't use it. Metacritic aggregates scores from professional reviewers. Your comment couldn't have been more unintelligent.

I'll reply in a few days if someone actually addresses my points about the PS3 when refuting me:
1) Blu-ray
2) Better exclusives (substantiated in previous posts)
3) Multiplatform titles are not worse (also, previous post)
4) Free perfectly functional online play

The bottom line is only the PS3 has amazing games across every genre. This is all that matters.

I'm off to study. Screw this site.

The box looks nicer and it lies flat so it fits in with the decor, the green light on that X thingy doesn't match anything in the TV room - at least that's what my wife said...and besides, it's on special for 2999 and kids love the move controller (gee dad it's like a professional wii) and my daughter loves the fact that she can finally watch her blu-ray video that she got from a friend and watch a DRM'd DVD that refused to play on the DVD player.

I didn't say Red Dead, MW2 and FIFA 11 are exclusives. That list was all the popular multiplayer games my friends and I play.

My point was the difference is negligible, which it is. GTA 4 is hazy on the Xbox 360. Some may like it, I don't. Xbox 360 has sold more games and consoles than the PS3. Did you expect the sales figures at the top not to reflect this? How would you know personally that multiplatform titles are better on Xbox 360? Have you purchased/rented every game twice for each system? Why did you even link that article? Those are all dated games. It's taken developers a while to make full use of the PS3's resources.

Those games arent that old - a year or two at most, which is some time after the PS3 was first released.

Why cant you just admit you are a fanboy? Its okay, everyone is a fanboy at something, its not so bad. You'll feel better, I promise.

Missed the point#1

Other consoles don't require files to be installed before playing

Using Metacritic to backup your statements is the same as using wikipedia. We've argued this before countless times, you weren't around when we decided it was a stupid idea as everyone has different tastes/preferences... I enjoyed GoW, I enjoyed DMC but I love Darksiders more than both - despite it being a shameful ripoff

I'll reply in a few days if someone actually addresses my points about the PS3 when refuting me:
1) Blu-ray

We're arguing about Blu-ray? Who's got the 100k system this time?

2) Better exclusives (substantiated in previous posts)

Because Metacritic says so? The gaming community doesn't believe every word the reviewers say... As previously mentioned in this thread, sales end up being the more conclusive verdict... Halo has sold more  Force Unleashed 2 only got 66/100 :erm:... so I shouldn't buy it?

3) Multiplatform titles are not worse (also, previous post)

Search [-]google[/-] these forums, read all the debates/arguments, look at the images/videos and make up your own mind...but yeah general consensus is that Xbox runs multiplats better

The bottom line is only the PS3 has amazing games across every genre. This is all that matters.

Oculate did u seriously feel the need to go and quote everyones posts and make.a comment ??? Psssshhhh anyways some of us have free time on your hands....my opinion close this thread there are too many xbox vs ps threads out there and.a little research whould have helped the owner of this thread....why argue about the same stuff as discussed in page 2 and page 3 and page 4 so on so on its like everyone is a parrot, why don't u make a thread "ima xbox fan boy" or ima "ps3 fan boy" and make yourselfs happy, telling someone different on a thread like this isn't going to change there mind on how they feel towards a console. Just move on dammit

Install times on the occasional PS3 game is a non-issue. Don't try make it one. The PS3 runs multiplatform games just fine.

It's not the same as using Wikipedia. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone. How hard is it for you to understand this? Metacritic is aggregate scores from every bloody professional reviewer. If they all thought a game was brilliant, it damn well is.

Blu-ray is worth mentioning, because high definition is awesome with many films. Loads of people have HDTV's now, so it's something they can use.

The gaming community does respect Metacritic, and MyBroadband forums do not represent the whole online gaming community. Halo was the most hyped gamed ever at the time it was released, and during a period when the Xbox 360 had better sales than the PS3.

You're entitled to liking whatever game you want. I don't like inFamous much, despite it receiving positive reviews. I have found that I very much enjoy the best rated games though in general. Sales do not necessarily mean a game is good. And Unleashed 2 sucks, so yeah, don't buy it. Why would you mention Haze? So a bad game came out for PS3, so what? Anyone who read a review would have known not to buy it.
