With the RAMpocalypse the suppliers seem to only be handing out credits even if they have stock available, because it’s cheaper than sending a replacement drive.

I bought it on takealot so I don't know. Will see. I want a replacement because I paid R1199 for this drive it's now R3549 on takealot

Sadly, fat chance of that. There's a post about someone having an issue with an ssd and they just got a refund.

So yeah I know I'm a bad boy but wondering if it's not the jailbreak also causing issues. When playing games in a compressed format thr console runs hot due to it needing tl uncompress assets as they are streamed.

Anyway the drive is fried it what it is. The console crashes with it in and my pc isn't reading it. Damage is done. Ai

... You did put a heatsink on the drive like Sony said right? The sticker it comes with doesn't count

Yes I did. Removed the sticker. It has memory cooling pads with aluminium heatsink.

I pur the cover back. Thought that was maybe the issue but sony says it must be put back and not left open.

Then you did everything right, couldn't have overheated. Just bad luck.

I have one of those drives in a GMKTec K8 Plus since November. Media PC so never gets turned off so think you just got a dud

It's not that great of a game but the graphics on the PS5 does look good in this game.
