Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut arrives on PS5 and PS4 consoles on August 20

Explore the brand new Iki Island, plus PS5-specific enhancements like DualSense controller haptic feedback, Japanese lip sync, and more.

PS5 exclusive features

While Director’s Cut players on both PS4 and PS5 will be able to experience the Iki Island content, PlayStation 5 players will have access to a few additional new features.

We’ve heard your feedback about the lack of Japanese lip sync in the original version of Ghost of Tsushima, and it’s something we worked hard to address in this new release. Thanks to the PS5’s ability to render cinematics in real time, cutscenes in Ghost of Tsushima and on Iki Island on PS5 will now offer lip sync for Japanese voice over.

We’re also happy to confirm that Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and the new Iki Island expansion will all take advantage of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in the Director’s Cut. There will also be enhancements to 3D audio* on PS5, as well as drastically improved load times, 4K resolution options** and framerates targeting 60 FPS.

Transferring your progress

If you already own Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, you’ll be able to transfer your save to PS5 to pick up where you left off. For new players, the new Iki Island content will be available beginning in Act 2 of Ghost of Tsushima, after you’ve made your way to the Toyotama region.

Damn, I'm about halfway into the game more or less but think I'll ice it until the Director's Cut lands - especially for the PS5 features

The PS5 Hits 10 Million Units Sold Faster Than Any Other PlayStation Console

Sony’s biggest problem right now with the PS5 is that they can’t seem to make enough of them, because the demand is extremely high, something made all the more clear with a new report which estimates that the PS5 has already eclipsed 10.1 million units sold in just 35 weeks, where it took the PS4 39 weeks to do the same.

The report comes from website VGChartz, who estimates that at the end of the week of July 10, PS5 had sold another 253,907 units which officially brought the console across that 10 million line.

It is great to see that more consoles are out in the wild, because as the PS5 install base grows, Sony will eventually move away from the PS4 to only publishing games on PS5, something that could happen sooner with the PS5 selling faster than any other hardware they’ve ever released.

Hopefully the new redesigned models of the PS5 will be easier for Sony to produce and we can hopefully see an end to production issues soon.

Apple tv+ is not the greatest streaming service.
Whatever is worth watching, you have to either rent or buy.
Just make sure you cancel the subscription before January 2022 so you wont be billed month to month thereafter.
Not worth the R85.00 pm in my opinion.

Seagate's FireCuda 530 is the World's First PlayStation 5 Compatible SSD

Need to add some extra storage to your PS5? This SSD has capacities of up to 4TB!

Seagate has confirmed that their FireCuda 530 SSD will be PlayStation 5 compatible, supporting next-generation games on the console using the systems user-accessible M.2 slot.

While Sony has not yet enabled storage expansion on their PlayStation 5 through the system's internal M.2 slot, the company has previously stated that they plan to enable the slot this summer through a new firmware update. After this update is released, PlayStation 5 users will be able to upgrade their consoles with M.2 NVMe SSDs that are fast enough to meet or exceed Sony's storage requirements.

With sequential read speeds of up to 7,300 MB/s, Seagate's FireCuda 530 SSD offers performance levels exceeding Sony's PS5 SSD requirements. Seagate's FireCuda 530 SSD is available in 500GB, 1TB, 2TB and 4TB capacities and can be purchased with or without an integrated heatsink.

Here's what Seagate's country manager for New Zealand, Jeff Park, had to say about the FireCuda 530's PlayStation 5 compatibility;

We have done some testing with Sony on the PlayStation 5 and today we can confirm that the FireCuda 530 with the heatsink has met all the PS5 requirements. With the PS5 design, the SSD card slot is very narrow, so there's not much room for the SSD to mount.

However, with the FireCuda 530 – even with the heatsink on the top – the slim design allows for it to fit. Of course, the FireCuda 530 without the heatsink is slimmer, so both of them will fit into the PS5.

Why do they region lock it? I bought my console just like everyone else
