Well, after watching this clip, I'm a bit concerned. Have ordered and paid for a Samsung 2TB 980 Pro today. No heatsink obviously.

A question - if the SSD does overheat, does it result in a critical failure of the entire PS5, or just a shut down?
 
Allrighty, the Samsung 980 Pro is installed.

My PS5 tells me the read speed is 5668.019 MB/s. Seeing as this SSD supposedly has a read speed of 7000 MB/s, this doesn't seem very good?

I've been doing some googling, and it seems Sony's SSD and specs only promised 5500 MB/s to developers, so I guess I'm ok then. Was a bit concerned at first.

Update on my SSD upgrade.

Still waiting for the Amazon delivery. I ordered 3 items at the time (the SSD, the heatsink and a replacement remote for my Nvidia Shield). All 3 ended up in different shipments because of availability timing. Got my Shield remote first on the 28th last month. The heatsink arrived a few minutes ago, and the SSD is only leaving Miami now.

Now I wait...
