PS5

So far I am 35 hours into GoW Ragnarok (Playing on Give me a Challenge), its been an absolute blast, the game is really pretty on PS5. I do play on performance mode for that juicy framerate just makes the experience so much better, but at some spots I put on the graphic mode just to immerse myself.

The only issue I have is mostly focus on one specific area. It feels way to big for a linear game and there is so much to do and you feel overwhelmed about everything you have to do. I think games like AC Valhalla etc. ruined my mind with gigantic areas and 10 million quests and it becomes quite tiresome. Probably for most this won't be a issue! I won't say the area name due to spoilers.

Other than that the game is definitely a step up to the 2018 one, but not a giant leap.

I'm still enjoying it though - there are a few new thing's to discover - and there are some vrek hard bosses as you get further in....

The ice freeze puzzles are new (and neat) and of course the old fave (those 'roots') are still there in addition to a new axe throwing mechanic.

Yeah don't get me wrong, still enjoying it. But to me, feels like something is missing. But I'll reserve further judgment till I finish it
 
Hmmm Microsoft has offered COD to Nintendo, a platform on which COD has never been (I think I could be wrong).

So instead of making it exclusive it's actually going to be added to another platform

The mighty no 1 gaming platform in the world PlayStation will have it for an extended 10 years as well. Ok after that it's in Microsoft hands I guess as to what happens.

Im certain Sony could make a PlayStation FPS exclusive that would be world class, surely, I mean their pipe line speaks for itself... Banger after banger after banger.......

They already have FPS IPs that are world class, Killzone comes to mind.

Thing is COD makes Sony a sh.t load of money period. This has nothing to with anti competitive behaviour but more to with Sony bottom line. Sony is just bubble wrapping their argument behind a wall of "for the gamers" bs.

Hey, it's a competitive world out there. And MS would do the same if the positions were reversed.

But regardless of what Sony's real motivations are, it is a fact that the anti-competition regulators are looking at this transaction very closely.

I think the original had a bit more mystery - you were following a quest while learning about the characters and watching the kid grow up - also, everytime you thought you'd reached the 'highest' point another step was revealed.

The sequel doesn't quite have the same level of mystery.

It's still stunning and one of my favourite games though.
 
I’ve had a PS5 for about 13 months now. My verdict: it’s a piece of crap. It’s rubbish, the PlayStation network is dogshit. I wish I got the Xbox instead. School fees I guess. I’m going to order an Xbox, and happily take a sledgehammer to this piece of overrated garbage.

I have both. PSN is fine, your connection is probably s***. Both of my consoles purr along fantastically on Openserve fibre.

Great games, good UIs, both with subscription services offering free games. Neither console is crap.

I’ve had a Series X and now a PS5.

They’re both excellent.

You’re just plain wrong.

I have both consoles and they’re both excellent. If I had to pick one I’d take the PS5 and it’s not even close.

I get vastly better download speeds from PSN than Xbox. Beyond that, not much to complain about on either side.

Not sure which Sony employee upset you but the Xbox isn't going to be some magical place. Both consoles have their pros and cons.

Xbox Game Pass is amazing value but I just find that I hardly have time to play the games I buy so it's not really that much value for me. I'm subscribed but honestly haven't made much use out of it.

PSN is pretty good too, there is at least one free game every now and then that interests me.

Game Pass > PSN sub
PSN has faster and more reliable downloads than Xbox
Dual Sense controller > Xbox contoller.
Prefer the Xbox console's form factor.
Prefer the PS5 interface.
Xbox is a more superior media consumption device (Netflix, Plex, etc).
Prefer that PS5 takes standard M.2 SSD expansion.
Prefer PSN exclusive games over Xbox ones.

That last one is a major one, games like God of War, Last of Us, Horizon are some of my favourite games of all time, no Xbox exclusive has come close to any of them for me (I hope Starfield changes my mind).

Yeah, it's pretty obvious the troll was blowing it out of it's crusty ass. Especially as this "hated" piece of hardware could easily have been sold in the time period mentioned due to stock shortages. Most likely at a profit.

My controller caught the drift fever so I had to replace it as it could not be fixed.

Replaced it with a new one.
Hopefully this will not be an annually thing else its going to be a expensive year with the subs and a new controller every year

You can just get the stick mechanisms replaced.

You can either purchase the sticks and replace them yourself (if you are proficient with soldering work and have the right tools) or send it in to a repair shop to get fixed. Xmods has a ship in service that will cost a lost less than a new controller: https://xmods.co.za/content/6-controller-repairs-

Just be very certain if you do this yourself that you're confident in your skills, as desoldering the old sticks is not easy if you don't have the right tools.

You need to make sure you buy the updated model. Google is your friend.

Nope I know my limits and soldering is not one of them.

I've ordered from them a few times, always very responsive. Never used them for repairs but I may still in the future.
