PS5

When I had my Xbox the first thing I had to do was go buy batteries for the controller, and no, the controller did not last a fukn month - maybe if you don't use it at all. You can have your preference, I have mine and I've also used both. I'd take more features and a rechargeable built in over AA anyday

They last 40 hours.

Easy average of 1.3 hours a day.

So they do last a month even under reasonably active use.

The PS5 I have to charge every other session.

You could have also gotten the battery pack which turns it into play and charge, same as PS. But you have a choice. And it doesn't require you to disassemble the thing when the battery starts going...

The ideal controller would be a mix between the PS5 and XBox Series controllers. XBox layout, size and batteries. PS5 controller features.

With the DS4 it was pretty good after fitting Xbox sticks instead of those stupid slippery one.

Somehow the DS5 analogs are better even though they look the same.

I don’t hate it nearly as much as the DS4, but it would have preferred them offset for sure.

Nothing like spending more money on your already expensive device just to get some basic functionality amirite. You do have a choice, but who plays Xbox and does not have a form of a rechargeable solution? You'd just be pissing away money if you don't, so really your choices are limited between buying an AA rechargeable kit or the play and charge thingy.

And who makes money from the play and charge official kit? Same company that makes money from proprietary expandable storage...talk about boardroom meetings...

And with XB you are 'basically forced' to buy a rechargeable battery pack or spend your life buying batteries at the supermarket counter. I can also just plug my controller in and life goes on
Can someone tell these die-hard Xbox boys that the battle is over?

Agree with that, the pack should have shipped standard then there wouldn't be an argument...

Maybe the more pertinent question is what kind of idiot gets the Xbox with its uber replaceable batteries - and then gets the PS5 afterwards...

I’ve always turned off the gimmicky features on the PS controllers as they do not add any value to my gaming experience so I get a little more juice out of them that way.

I have two PS5 controllers and 1 Xbox controller for the whole battery debacle and it’s always been like this since wireless controllers were a thing.

I use lithium rechargeables (2,800mah each) which means I forget when I last charged them and hot swap them when they eventually need a charge.

I’d still prefer not to have to do that but it’s an easier and cheaper solution than buying a spare controller for the privilege of wireless gaming.

I did, and regret getting the PS5, sits under the TV looking ugly and collecting dust.

Console battle hasn't happened for years, it's only ponies that bring it up due to fragile egos and need to make themselves feel better. Same as why they bring up Metacritic, because they believe review scores matter

MS has moved forward into the cloud and subscription platforms while Sony has caught on they are being left behind, hence why they announced a few months ago they are investing millions into GaaS and cloud, to stay relevant.

what kind of savage doesn’t have rechargeable batteries on hand in this day and age ?

/snort ‘spend your life buying batteries’

Feel free to quote me. But that's me, savage as I might be? Wasn't aware it's a requirement for the Xbox I'm afraid...I probably buy one pack of batteries a year for the TV remote...if that even

Kak man, everyone knows those Chinese batteries in remotes last years, way longer than Duracells as well.
