PSL Discussion Thread

They look in an entirely different league. I'd have thought AmaZulu with their billionaire owner would start challenging. Royal might if they professionalise instead of the current spaza setup. Chiefs and Pirates require prayers and sacrifices.
The first season fooled them and Benni was getting too pompous, no good signings for the second season and they are still soldiering on with the same players, the draws are a sign of lack of depth in the team.

I am still not sure about Royals as the mom and son don't look to have any brains between them, I have a feeling that they might go broke in the not so distant feature.

I really think he can make things happen for them, Ncikazi and Fadlu are clueless.
Agreed on those two - they are assistant coaches at best.

But lets be real grootman, Benni would clash constantly with Management. Pirates tend to always hire yes-men.

I suspect that was his problem at AmaZulu.
It amazes me that owners of clubs never want to be challenged. Its as if as though ego is more important than winning. It boggles the mind.

Was Benni given a budget to buy players though? Seems like his leash was way short for a team that got into the CAF Champions League.

It was short sighted of the chairman, chopping and changing coaches is not going to work, they did buy players but it's certainly not the quality the big teams have so I don't understand what miracles he was expecting.

The fact that Benni managed to finish second with that squad, qualify for CAF and progress as far as he did is a great achievement. But it does happen that two people just don't see things the same way.

Not taking away from the fact that they did well to finish second but let's face it, everyone apart from Sundowns were bad last season.

This season is a bit better but if Royal AM are second with virtually the same Bloem Celtic squad from last season, it prices teams are once again not in form.

Yeah, I feel that Sundowns always have it easy when one between Chiefs and Pirates are not performing, that's why Pirates should get Benni, Ncikazi and Fadlu are amateurs, they have a much better squad this year compared to the injury prone squad that Chiefs have, the fact that they are happy to put their best striker Mhango on the bench whilst losing is a mystery, discipline issues aside, looks like they have taken the issue way personal, especially Ncikazi judging by his comments.
