PSP vs DS

Why would you want to play those games on a handheld if you have the exact same games on your PS3/PS2? Doesn't make sense, they're the exact same, if not diluted on your psp. PSP is better suited for nice racing games though between the two btw.

So you're making the assumption EVERYONE has either a PS2 or PS3? lol

And not all games on the PSP are ports.

And not all the games use the touchscreen. What makes Mario Kart so unique? The fact that you can see the map on the other screen? Definitely not better than the Wii version.

You speak as if Burnout, Gran turismo etc. are better than their PS2/PS3 counterparts. . Sure, not all games utilise the touchscreen, because they're made by some ****ty 3rd party game developing team. The DS game library is so huge because developers want to cash in on the DS popularity and games are easier to code/takes less effort whereas the PSP is much harder and game developers can't really express their creativity or be innovative in their games with the PSP, pretty much time wasted for a 3rd party game developer. Thats why they rather try making a game for the PS where the game might get a better chance at popularity. Basically only platinum titles make it to the PSP because of popularity on the PS consoles and chances of success/good sales.

Obviously it's not and I never said they were. I made those comments cause some DS fanboy said you don't get DS games on other consoles.

Having millions of titles is not always good if most of them are crap. I checked on IGN. The DS has about 350 titles scoring less than 50%. PSP a lot less.

Also, how much is a handful for you? On IGN there are about 140 games scoring more than 80% on the PSP.
Too True

+1

But really, the games issue is a personal choice. For me its PSP. I mean, Tekken, Burnout, Gran Turismo, God of War or on a mobile device? Awesome.
Damn Right :D

Have you noticed a PSP is portable? you can't carry your ps2/3 around and play it anyware can you? Tekken, Burnout and GT can be played over and over again, so why not, and at better graphics then PS2? FTW

who cares about titles scoring less than 50%, only an idiot would buy them, fact is the same experience can be had on a ps2/ps3 as can be had on a psp, you will not find the ds experience on any other console.

+1. Aye, an experience like none other.

Because to everyone in this thread and to the casual observer, you sir are indeed a PS fanboi.

And I'm replying to your post so I'm referring to you specifically.

I have a DSi, its cool, in fact, my sister is coming to SA again in March, going to ask her to bring me a second DSi for R1400 :D brand spanking new baby!

Maybe the PSP ends up like the Atari Lynx, certainly went downhill with PSP Go.

I find the iPhone more compelling gaming platform than the PSP atm.

Then your gaming needs are way different than the person considering a PSP. The games on the iPhone sucks. I've literally tried hundreds of games on my iPhone and there's about 10 games that's good that I keep on my iPhone. You just can't play PSP-type games on a touchscreen-only device.

I've owned a PSP for almost 4 years now.

DS<PSP<IPHONE

gun to my head, btw PSP vs DS, The PSP has mp3 and video support, dont think DS has that?!Am I incorrect in saying that?!

But i'd get shot, cuz i'd rather choose my IPHONE above all.its EVERYTHING in one.

Try and look at it ths way:

PSP is basically, 'Playstation 2' in you hands with mp3 and video capabilities, while DS is basically a MORE ADVANCED 'Game Boy ADVANCED'....

thus PSP=PS2 v1.5
& DS=GB ADVANCED v2.0

Like PS3 vs 360 ... a bit of a pointless debate.

Look at what you need from your console (gaming + multimedia wise), be it portable or a 'TV game machine', look at your budget, and look at the games available with the various platforms.

If all the factors make you lean towards a particular brand ... buy it ... plain & simple.
