Agreed.

Speed of it and quality is something else. Drone and everything is pricey but have a look at the ssd costs . Makes me think of RED ssds. Looks like a normal m.2 ssd with a nice cover.

Some 5.2K footage and couple external HDDs later you taking out a bond.

Still worth it.
 
Anyone have any info of how to get a commercial drone licence and what it costs? Durban if possible.
 
Had a close call over the weekend. Was flying over camps bay and my Phantom was attacked my a flock of Seagulls. There was first one that was loosely following it then after some squawking one turned into seven and they were diving for it. Pulled some serious top gun maneuvers and got it back safely. Definitely got to be more aware of them in the future. Lots of reports of this happening on the web so it seems like a common thing.

That's interesting, never occurred to me that birds would attack them but it makes sense. Seagulls are big and aggressive, they could easily take out a pretty sizable drone.

Some countries train up eagles to hunt drones, that's pretty metal.

Especially if you are close to their breeding area. That really get upset.
 
Hi guys, I have a friend having some issues with p3 standard.

His message:"Yes flown fine once. But every other time , when using the remote, none of the controls work , only the gimbal slide. And the left stick turns the gimbal right . "

It is up to date software wise.

Any ideas what to look at?
 
I have a new toy. P4P. Still trying to learn the crazy load of settings.

superbalist had a 40% off sitewide recently and i see they still running it on certain items daily, might be worthwhile to keep an eye on them to see if any quadcopters go on the daily specials.

i picked up a cheap syma one for 40% off, great to learn off and not too bad on the wallet after the discount.

congrats on the drone @xeslaro, really wish i could afford a mavic or p4 hell i'll be more than happy with a p3 but man those prices :(

Thnx. I ordered direct from China. Saved about R8k.

Check DJI having Xmas specials, especially on P3. I know we can't order directly from them, but those big Chinese online stores usually follow suit.

Congrats Xeslaro. What a toy! Enjoy it to the fullest brother. I saw a Phantom 4 Pro at a shop in Cresta mall for 25K. N little bit over my budget LOL. currently I'm using my kite to get some aerial shots of my pozzi. I have also attached a camera to the kite. The footage is a little bit shaky but other wise its okay LOL. Just one problem, I could not see my house in the footage, Eish!

Thanks man, I definitely will, yes. I flew it in a blustery north-easter (very windy), the drone was rock solid and the footage looks like somebody was steadying it 80m in the air - impressive. I've done 102 take-offs and landings so far and without a issue. When I am more confident flying I will then concentrate more on the video settings, composition etc.

guys this special is back go go go (looks like the black syma is already soldout, the white and car drone are still in stock)
it will automatically take 40% off at checkout
 
The camera on that one is 0.3MP only. And costs $55. The price must be much better before I take a chance on it.
