Quadcopter/Drone Thread

If it's good enough for a R500million spaceship it's good enough for my Mavic drone and it's 5x optical zoom.

Just for interest sake you do know that both the M100 and 600 Matrice drones have IMU's?
:whistle:

Please tell me how the Mavic is comparable to this? Completely different categories there, son.

Does this thread need a time-out or is civility going to return?

I may have been angry in my responses - I apologise for that.

It's just your bad luck that I'm thinking of buying a Spark so I've been taking interest in this particular thread. ;)

Logic done the Genetic way:
See how big my truck is and it only has 2 seats???
Your car is waaaaay smaller and hence it's impossible to have 5seats, case closed!!!!!!!
:sick:

In other news Genetic is still trying to get his mind around the fact that the M100 and 600 Matrice drones have IMU's and hence neither have real gyroscopes, his head probably exploded.

Please don't shift goal posts.

My original point remains;

You can't have a large zoom lens on a tiny drone without significant vibration issues. Bigger drones have better physics, electronics and technology to mitigate the problem, but at a much bigger price point and size.

Here is a 36x zoom on a cheaper smaller drone;

Not very pretty, is it?

Point is, the Mavic is a $1,000 drone. Anything technologically greater (including a good zoom lens) is gong to set you back a shyte load more money - as in the Z30 you keep referring to.

Nothing wrong with the Spark - Just don't ask genetic why it doesn't have a zoom lens.

:wtf:
You have to make a valid point before there can be goal posts that can be moved.

Either way if you don't understand even a basic drone principle like what the IMU is you shouldn't be debating drone design, unless as I mentioned... see my earlier post :whistle:

I don't know why you keep going on about the IMU. It's an inertia sensing device. Very similar to the accelerometer in your phone. All drones have it. It's not a true mechanical gyroscope.

If you want to question my 'basic drone principals' I suggest you visit the DJI YouTube channel. Some of my work is on their official page. ;)

Also when the Mavic 2 is officially launched, play close attention to the promo video that is released with it. You might recognise some of the shots. ;)
