Hi

I just got off the phone with Vodacom and apparently my contract ends in August this year. Then she said that my phone part of the contract has a payment of R200 outstanding for the actual device, which will be done next month.

She said that I can then come get another phone, so long and sign another contract in August?

Is that right?

I had a similar issue while back and I now understand how it works.

So this was me I went on a Top up 315 where you receive R315 airtime the you had to pay like R150 for the handset itself becuase the R315 is only for the Airtime so then my Contract was R465 so I paid it every month. Then by the 20th Month Vodacom starts saying you can upgrade so most people fall for that the only thing is you took a contract to pay your handset off for 24 months so if you get a new phone you still owe them R150 for 4 months and you start paying off the next handset you have chosen. The best is to wait till the last day of your contract on the 24th Month then everything is paid.

Regards

ok I but according to them I only have R200 outstanding on my device contract... I dont understand why that would be up already when the subscription part of the contract potentially carries on for another 4 months.

maybe its just how they package it now, pay off the device in 20 months and dangle the carrot to get you to sign another 24 month contract????

Nope something doesn't seem right, normally they dangle the option of "upgrading" in front of you, never mentioning you will still need to pay off the previous device.
