Quickly.... reply quick..........aaaah,....

Microsoftsecurityessentials ... gasp-gasp-gasp!!!!!!!!!

It is a bitch to install though. The program is a 10MB install file ... but the definition files are more than a 100MB online update.

Best anti virus? Wipe windoze and install Linux :p

When will people stop with this Linux crap.

Installing anything in Linux requires a command line update. And anything more than that ...

Linux revolutionaries should come up with something far better than what is availableat the moment before they can become snobistic about Linux.

MSE is PC friendly, updates are automatic and run in the background.
Also quarantines the RECLYCLER virus in a way that you don't have to re format the memory stick, thus losing all the data.

What command line update? I installed Linux on my mothers laptop because it's easier to use for what she needs to do with the laptop (Web, music and mail basically).

No stupid Windows notifications saying "Your computer may be at risk!" - that would freak her out. Also much less chance of her running a malicious file.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I also think MSE is the easiest solution. All other AV's just tend to become bloatware after a while.

Actually still wanted to ask what you are running on your PC, saw it's Linux in a screenshot you posted, but it looked pretty cool.

What command line update?....

I also would like to know what this command line update is... I dual boot Win7 and Ubuntu at the moment and the only time I had to use terminal is when I installed LAMP. AFAIK most distros have some kind of GUI to manage packages/updates.
