R1.8mill A Month

And yes, Picard's post has just proven that my imagination is not so fertile after all....

What? I made a simple statement that is 100% true. There is too great a majority black people in SA soccer AND politicians ARE crapping in SA sport.

This isn't a racist comment. It's an objective observation.

Nope, it is racist. The colour of the people involved in a sport should be of no consequence. It is their ability to get the best out of a sport and to perform well that can be looked at but not their colour.

If you weren't being racist then why would you assume that things would all be fine and dandy if there were more white people involved?

So what are your comments on the quota system in cricket and rugby?

I just hope your comments do not come from a place which sees soccer as a black sport and therefore it must be useless?

Firstly, TelkomLoser, the most useless team would be the one at the bottom of the FIFA rankings and this is definitely not Bafana Bafana. In fact South Africa are 69th out of 202 listed countries! Far from the most useless!

Killa, you too make emotionally driven but far from factual statements. Funny how the people who know their soccer do not seem to feel the same way as you do. Benni McCarthy is the joint highest paid player at Blackburn Rovers. Wonder why they pay someone so much money if they have zero talent? I could go on listing the other South Africans who have played international soccer but do not really feel the need to waste my cap proving something which needs no proving - that we do have plenty soccer talent in this country! Yes the administrators may be a problem but to make accusations of zero talent is silly.

dude wtf do you find a racial comment in my post

i say we have 0 zero talent u cry black hater

south african soccer sucks purely because its not supported like cricket and rugby

look at ghana nigeria ivory coast, all great teams with BLACK PLAYERS

soccer has nothing to do with colour

when i was at school and forced to play sport no schools had soccer as a choice, im not sure if that is still the case but if it is thats a really huge problem

name me 3 amazing players in our team?

benni is about the only good player but he is not amazing

go look at the stars in Nigeria Ghana Cameroon and ivory coast , they have super stars we have nothing

Considering Soccer is SA's no.1 sport, but far, they certaintly outdo themsleves with the fifa ranking of 69. Heck, Australia, with its lowly supported soccer, and extreme distance to europe, manage a ranking way better than SA.

And yep, bafana really need to change this name, its childish.

Not surprised the coach is leaving. You gotta have rocks in your head to coach SA soccer. Soccer in SA is not about producing the best soccer players, its got more to do with egos' and money in the pocket. If they sort this out, it will be better.

whites in this country dont play soccer

nor do i think a white team would be a good one

its all about poor development

So now you change your argument from one where all our players have zero talent to one where you state we have no amazing players?

You are deflecting the focus from your original statements.

"Amazing" would be a little bit subjective to try and define anyway so a bit pointless. A player can have an "amazing" game one week and then a poor game the next week. To be useless on the other hand is something totally different.

And as regards my deduction on my original post, I still think it is fair after reading both your and TelkomLosers posts. The OP was about the coach quitting and immediately both of you jump in and start slating the team. Yes, in all fairness you did touch on his reason for leaving but not before taking a swipe at our useless players....

I do agree with you totally on this point and the one you made about the sports they "push" at traditional white schools versus traditional black schools.

My school too did not offer soccer but rugby was huge.

I take this further and often say that if you see a bunch of white guys in a park they will more often than not be throwing a rugby ball around. A similar group of black guys will probably be kicking a soccer ball around. Yes, these are generalisations but in my experience more true than not...

i hope sa soccer gets pushed to put a quota system in place like other sports have to do. and i hope the players get told to sing the national anthem like other sportsmen get told to do when they play for their country. maybe if players see that there are other people with the skills standing on the sidelines they will pull up their socks and perform on the field.

i've got a feeling, that the gov is making policies, that the coach is not able to say, i want this guy on my team, or this guy, but a good question is, y arent there any white players in our soccer team ? Its good, that that coach is leaving us now, it's time for a dutch coach, i'm not praising dutchyland here now, but they have the best coaches. Okay, i'm not a david B fan, but y did he go to the USA ? couldnt SA pay him enough to come and play here, i mean, that would be such a booster for our economy, i mean, such an icon playing for our team, okay... they would still suck.. but soccer would get a lot more attention.. yes, true, a lot of schools dont give soccer as a game, i wonder y that is, probably, that still a lot of people think, that soccer is a game fot our black nation. which is bull*****. It's not too late i think, we can still do a lot to our soccer team, maybe changing the name first ? what does bafana actually mean ?

WTF? :D

why not put some white players in the soccer team and see what happens and then also have a lot more black players in the rugby team and see what happens. whats the worst that can happen?

well we already have a few black players in our rugby team, or dont we ? i think, that the players shouldnt be chosen by color. If ur good, ur good. oh well

Guys, really you sound as bad as the politicians now with these suggestions of quotas! Where exactly do these white players miraculously come from that are going to be put in the national team? Look at domestic soccer, how many white faces do you see there? Not many, and now you want white players in the national team?

If the white players do not miraculously change our fortunes should we then try a few indians? Some ladies?

you talking the truth there thats why we need academies so the boys and girls at the lower end of the spectrum can be trained to make it into the top end of the sport.

Agreed... politics should buzz off of sport...

Black politicians are busy fighting fire with fire. They argue that the white people did this ... now they will do the same to them.

But sooner or later it's going to backfire in their own faces.

Well his press conference has not told us very much! Apparently he has stated he is leaving purely because if his wife's health.... If this is the case then I personally feel that it a really poor showing by him!. Yes, I know family before sport blah blah blah argument but this man took the job and made a commitment to coach a country through to the world cup. Now two years before the event he drops that country and buggers off!

"My family needs me, especially my wife needs me to be near her," Parreira told a news conference. "After 36 years of marriage, I can't say No."

Surely after all this time he should be able to say no! :)
