R1.8mill A Month

lance he committed to south africa before knowing his wife was seriously i'll

i doubt it says in his contract, you will finish your contract even if your wife and best friend of 35 years is dying

Well his press conference has not told us very much! Apparently he has stated he is leaving purely because if his wife's health.... If this is the case then I personally feel that it a really poor showing by him!. Yes, I know family before sport blah blah blah argument but this man took the job and made a commitment to coach a country through to the world cup. Now two years before the event he drops that country and buggers off!

By giving a weak-sauce reason like this he is in fact making a very clear and explicit statement. His statement is that he has had it with the politics and BS in soccer and will not honour his employment and employers with a decent reason for leaving.

I can't and won't blame him.

He also mentioned that none of the programs (youth training, stuff, etc) he wanted implemented, has not been done.

Thats expected and doesnt surprise me that SAFA havent listened to him. SAFA just dont want to listen, they really need to pull there heads out of their arrses.

Hmmm, I clearly missed a large portion of that article and need to go back and reread it.....

If this is the case then he really has no backbone as if he had other issues he should have mentioned them for all to hear and not used his wife's illness as an "excuse"!

Let me explain again. If were in his position and I saw the amount of problems that exist and I also saw that realistically speaking there isn't any chance of it being fixed, then I too would give a lame excuse and get the hell out of South Africa.

However since I'm not him and since I will stay in South Africa I will always be the check and balance of those that are in power. Which is exactly what a democratic society requires. I'm not a racist. I'm a check and BALANCE.

Yeh, shes got cancer, i feel for Parreira.

FFS, I didn't even read the article. If she's got cancer I'll tell the whole world to F off regardless of politics. I'll be spending every waking moment with my wife. We would be practically siamese twins.

Let me explain again too. If you are going to take a job for R1.8 mill a year do you not do a little research to see what you are getting yourself into? Do you not expect to have to work for this money? Do you just quit when the going gets a little tough?

This argument is of course based on your argument that he is using an excuse to get out and not the fact that his wife is ill.

And now you just went off on a tangent and did a little bit of soap boxing for good measure! Unfortunately your comments often have very few checks but plenty of bleating....

Are you by any chance black or are you just desperate. Desperate to make SA work even if it means that you must disadvantage yourself.

I am not even going to answer you Picard! You try so hard to convince me that you are not racist but now all of a sudden my race is of importance to you as you cannot see how terribly skewed your views are! You are racist - "SA soccer needs more white people in the game".

How exactly am I disadvantaging myself? (Perhaps we should take this onto it's own thread so you can teach me how wrong my ways are and how your attitude is the correct one to have in this country)

Any opportunity you have you choose to knock the, generally black, administrators, politicians, players etc etc in this country. Even in this thread where the coach of the football team has decided to quit you manage to jump on your soap box!

Your race was only important insofar as it would have told me something about your motivation for being so 'energetic'.

Ha ha well then I should claim I am Indian as you pretty much set it up in such a manner that I was either black, which would explain the fact that I don't hate every black person, or white and desperate!

And actually in writing that I do not see why if I was desperate to make SA work it would be such a bad thing? I personally prefer this attitude to the one which seems to lean towards hoping SA will fail so that people can say "I told you so"....

.... and then so that the neccessary steps can be taking to put SA on the right path again ... in a real democratic society and not one ruled by a bunch of spiteful and fanatic black activists.

We are really taking this thread off topic for which I apologise. But to be really controversial do you not think "they" are entitled to a little bit of spitefulness after the 46 years of apartheid and the even longer period of oppression....? After 14 years of black rule "we" are already squealing like pigs!

Don't mean to go off topic, but you're really good at taking threads off topic.
Apologies for going off topic.
