R10500 PC, sugesstions

Hi guys, im finally selling my old rig, and getting a new box (only box, keabor & mouse) ive got about R10500 to spend. im open for ALL suggestions, only thing that is fixed is the 320gb HDD, i dont need more space than that. Also, im buying from suppliers. I wont be overclocking the rig-ever.

Intel Core2 Quadro Q6600
GIGABYTE® "S Series" P35 & ICH9R
2 x Samsung 1024MB DDR2 800
BARRACUDA 320GB 7200 16MB S-ATA II
XFX geforce 8800GT
Logitech Cordless Desktop MX3000 Laser
Antec TruePower Trio 550w
antec performance one p180
LG 20X DVD Super Multi Writer Black

that comes to about R10500.
Suggestions?

I've been considering replacing my rig in the next month or two - you got me drooling!
 
Can you list the component prices - I'm sure I've seen them cheaper, might save you one or two thousand.

memory, make sure the latency timings on your ram is low. (under 5)
HDD - get x2 and RAID 0 them. will make a nice difference.
GPU. will you be playing games?
what about an LCD monitor?
 
I would get a credit card and add Windows Vista and a 22" or even 24" wide LCD (HP/LG/Samsung) to make it perfect.

another thing: you need to go fiddle with that logitech MX3000, a buddy of mine hated the mouse that came with it and bought a MX Revolution mouse. I've got the LX710 wireless laser desktop, because I hate huge keyboards...youre going to be spending a lot of time with it so you have to love it before you buy it.

I assume he's got that sorted which is why he's spending everything on his new box (with keyboard and mouse) and not on monitors and software :D

But hey, I might be wrong (happens a lot :D) ;)

Do you just need a Raid Controller Card to do that for 2 x SATA HDs?

What would you recommed as a good price vs performance GPU (GPU setup) for some fairly high end gaming?

If you pay more than R2,500 for a non-overclocked version then the price/performance starts degrading quickly... :eek:
