R56000 bill for diskspace usage

Thank you Jade.

Last time this happened we moved 60% of the email accounts somewhere else and all was good.

They promised a warning long before disk space over runs but nothing.

And we still have no clue which email boxes are so big and how do they receive 160gig of emails in 3 weeks?

Any way thanks for your keen response!

If their control panel does not allow you to report on disk space then you should be able to create a smartermail admin account, log in to the account via webmail and generate disk usage reports for each user.

The guides below may assist - though the interfaces will differ slightly (We use SolidCP vs Website Panel, and our mail servers may be running on different versions)

Close your hosting account and make arrangements to settle them.

Move your hosting abroad. You will get much better infrastructure at much cheaper prices. None of the nonsense you are getting now.
I moved my hosting abroad since there was no competitive local option. Also, the risk of rolling blackouts.

After many personal calls and apologies from 1Grid and promises to fix their broken system, one month later, another R56000 bill! This time with little response or explanation.

This is after we moved half the email accounts away. Again no notice, no warning and no way to even manage the accounts or set limits, since their web panel is always broken. Besides the fact that you can't see the size of the mailboxes or get a report even if you beg.

Perhaps our only course of action is moving and an attorney now, Jade@SA. Perhaps your client and I can work together?

Really believe the problem with IT in South Africa is the lack of qualified people.

Make sure you have the response they sent you about the system that went bust and sent out the invoice incorrectly.

Move everything away from this company as fast as you can and cancel your account with them.

If they still continue claiming the money, wait until they go to court. Once they do, get an attorney to represent you and use this letter against them. They have no legal grounds to stand on.
