R59 Xtreme Data Nokia service

lets work this out-
100MB x 12 months = 1.2 GB
R59 x 12 months = R708
so you're paying R708 for 1.2 GB of data

Cell C R599 for 3 GB and youtube isn't blocked

Great, except that you can't add it to your existing pre-paid number AFAIK?

(a handful of protocols) "unlimited data" of 100MB.

Okay, if that didn't make you throw up:

Thereafter throttled half to death until 160MB.

And thereafter throttled completely to death.

Basically this:
Question is which is faster after it gets throttled to death, this deal or 56k?
If you're STILL not spewing vomit all in Nashua's face, then:

This offer does not mean you're limited to 100MB, they just throttle you from 512kbps to some slow speed (thumb suck say 64kbps)
meaning you can still achieve about 10~20GB p/m if you leave your phone plugged to the charger...

10~20GB p/m * 12 = 120 ~ 240GB @ R708... hmmm :/

except that they have the 160mb high use thresh hold which will clap your speeds even further or get you expelled.

160 Megabytes high-use threshold. We reserve the right to contact high-use Subscribers and ask them about their usage patterns or recommend that they move onto a more suitable data plan

and I was hoping the thumb suck 64kbps would be the new high use threshold, e.g. 100mb from 512 to 256, then 160mb from 256 to 64... :/

What makes it worse - it is with Nashua Mobile. If they were the last service provider left I'd rather use a pigeon

unlimited like 60km/h is the speed limit
unlimited like employment equity does not discriminate
unlimited like no animal products in a vegan diet

I'd say much better than MTN's offering but they should have made the 100MB for things other than email, IM, websites... e.g app updates and so on. Although its Nokia so not much apps to speak of!

I'll stick to my R100 vodacom data bundle. Gives me 250MB, and lasts me two months. So I'm paying R10 less a month to not be throttled.

Uncapped wifi at the house really does help a lot tho.

Now if only my htc's battery would last longer then a day :-/

what da hell is this?! :-) LOL.Nashua Mobile guys are very creative i must say.LOL!

Makes me realise how good the old Cell-C 2GB/PM for R999 was - works out at R83pm
Just add PAYG airtime if you want to make calls.
Now if only Cell-C's the new CEO would re-introduce these packages...

I don't think you are the only one. For some reason, they have a bad reputation. I have never dealt with them but with all the negative wrap, I am staying well clear of them. Rather be safe than sorry.

Do you ppl NEVER use wifi with your phones?
Wifi is not really so available, plus it is expensive and generally insecure. New "special" wifi rates are still R250/GB :wtf:

R59 x 12 months = R708

And then just use the Opera browser with the Opera Turbo or whatever they call the service which resizes pages for your phone before downloading. No throttling, no blocking, same data usage for browsing and email - except you can use Youtube etc if you want.

FUP - will definitely block that attempt

How can you advertise unlimited and then put a limit on it. Somebody lodge a complaint with ASA.

Nashua Mobile... pfffft. 100MB threshold another pffft... 160mb =56k throttle a third pfffft.

3 pfffffts.

No thanks.

Just what planet are these marketing "boffins" on, with gumph like;

A contract with a 160mb A MONTH threshold then throttled to 56k = "data hungry handset service" ?? :wtf:

Sounds more like fly paper than a pot of honey... stuck online, stuck in a contract and stuck with Nashua Mobile.

WHAT IS IT WITH PEOPLE TRYING TO SELL UNCAPPED CAPPED INTERNET?!!!!!!!

****ING PEOPLE ARE WASTING TIME AND MONEY WITH THESE CHEAP ASS PLANS!!!!!!!!!

FIRST MTN NOW NASHUA???

Wait, doesn't the browser on the new Nokia phones compress 90% of data like BB's do so it's similar to how BIS has a theoretical 100mb for R59 value???
