According to US law:

“a set of individuals whose identity as such is distinctive in terms of nationality or national origins.”

Basically, in our terms, individuals other than black.

It'll never be settled, because those who make an issue of race don't want it to be resolved. I mean you say we never really dealt with it which implies it could be dealt with. How do you think it could or could've been dealt with?

How does one come to a consensus?

Most husbands and wives cant even come to a consensus...

National reconciliation?
Huh, again how? Most people in SA were born after '94....

It's actually quite funny. The DA called me yesterday and asked for my time. I said no. The guys asked who I am voting for, and I replied "the DA". Not a chance in hell. I will vote the FF+ or to the ZACP.

The DA held that same position in the previous elections. Why are you only changing (assuming you voted for them previously) your vote now?

This is not the reason for my vote change. The DA have only recently changed their AA/BEE position too. And, there are other, better options on the table now that more align with my ideology. I am center right. I am for a free market, no identify politics and believe in individualism. The DA is not that party.

First ..off the bat, acknowledgement -we are an inherent racist society, we have a race issue/problem. With that out of the way, you start breaking the problem down.. and start addressing the issue like academics and not politicians. Again, requires adults in the room.

We are not an inherently racist society and there is nothing anyone can say to change my mind. I am sure this is the same for many other people too.

Fair enough, was just pointing out they've always held policies that mirror the ANC in a lot of ways ever since they've been contesting elections. Including their embrace of the need for redressing the ills of the past through race based equity programs.

Why would I want to have a meaningful adult conversation about race with someone with a childlike understanding of the subject? We will just be wasting each others time.

This is their view from 2009:

The DA is fully behind broad-based black economic empowerment. If properly implemented, it will pull people into the economy, reduce unemployment and stimulate growth. But BEE as implemented by the government has become elitist rather than broad-based and has done nothing to improve the chances of millions of still deeply disadvantaged South Africans.

We come from a past, that was premised on race. All of a sudden , that gets erased and its happy , happy family? Acknowledgement that there is a problem is the first step in addressing ...and ultimately resolving it. When you say others, ... those in your circle of friends, if yes...how diverse is your circle?
