It's not funny.
I for one won't have it on my cell. I simply dont like what it implies and cannot in good conscience have it playing thinking about how it may make others feel when they hear it.
Additionally, I did not approve when "One settler, One bullet" was doing the rounds.

It goes both ways.

If you dont like it done to you, why would you do it to others?

It's a no-brainer IMO.

Racism begets racism no matter what colour the racist's skin.
That's true but not standing up to racism from the 'other' side (for whatever reason e.g. white guilt) also begets further racism. Being passive only emboldens the racists.

They played the ringtone on 5FM this afternoon, and afterward the DJ said "This is whats going on in your country".

The song sounds funny because of the high pitched voice but the lyrics gives one that sinking feeling when you hear what hes saying.

Really? That is suprising!

Anyone got a link to it in that case?

Very, and it was uncensored as well. It was f***en this and k*k that.. the DJ didn't sound very impressed, although he probably got clearance from station management to play it on air.. if not he's probably in some trouble

Aggg, im feeling very racist after reading in The Record about someone placing stuff on the N4, near us, which caused a car to crash and the 7yo white girl in it to die, when the next car came along there was a bunch of black people clambering all over the crashed car, trying to steal the wheels and whatever else they could get.

So I will finally comment on this song, come on black people, come up with some derogatory song about white people in one of the other indigenious languages. I will just laugh it off...

I fail to see why the MyAdsl forum should continuously be used for racist remarks and negative postings about South Africa. The site is not named myrightwinginclinations.co.za or readlinkstonegativearticles.co.za. Yesterday was the birthday of an icon in the world and I think 10 people posted birthday greetings. Yet this topic about the most disgusting thing I have read about in a long time stands at a post count of 54.

Judging by the traffic generated by these topics, I am convinced that somebody should actually open such a forum and get it sponsored by the independant state of Orania. Then you can all say what you like about South Africa and all negative statements could then be censored by your moderator, such as in the good old South African days when newspapers were not allowed to publish anything against the government. Everything remotely showing the government of that day in a slightly bad light was banished under the umbrella of National security.

If any of these closet racists were not old enough to experience what the previous government legally enforced, I suggest that you read and learn as much as you can about that.

Whilst South Africa and the current government is by no means perfect, I still believe that we are a lot better off than during those days.

If we all can actually judge people by what they are, rather than the colour of their skin, and stand together this country will be an example for everyone! (and this last statement also applies to our present government)

The ringtone was probabily created by one of those sad religious, political, fundamentalist terrorists who are forever trying to undermine anything positive and good that develops to bring this country together as a one nation, and who will do anything to maintain the distrust between the race groups as long as possible, thereby dragging us down into the third world cesspool that they seem so bent on creating here.

Whatever 5FM's intention was, I'm still not in the slightest bit amused by this crap. People are quick to condemn the actions of specific ethnic groups, but will refuse to admit when they are in the wrong.

This goes for people belonging to all races - we will NEVER progress if we cannot see past skin colour. Therefore if you have a problem with people of different ethnicities to your own, you give up any right to complain about the progress that this country is making.

Yes, this was both sad and disappointing. :(

Let me start of by saying that whether ur a minority or majority....it DOESN'T matter! Stop saying that the majority plays the most important part.

I am doing my Masters and my thesis focuses on Racism in South Africa. I am on both sides and see both views.

What bothers me the most about our "NEW" South Africa is the fact that most of the youth are far more involved in Racism than ANY other age group....youth being from 13 -25.

Most of them weren't even born when Apartheid ended yet you hear some 12 year old begger say that it's apartheids fault.

Im going to keep it short so this is my opinion on the matter Racism:

Affirmative Action is causing Racism. It's been 12 years now but it's still going strong, the point of AA was to give previuosly disadvantaged people proper schooling. It's been 12 years....Grade 1 to 12.... yet our president feels that it should be kept in tact for a further 4 years without a mention of when it will end.

I say it causes Racism because 2 young people, that both had equal oppertunities in live, sit in the waiting room....One gets the job because it is required... e.g skin colour. The other person doesn't understand because they both lived a proper life without anything holding them back.

How can one really know who is the best for a specific job when the goverment has to step in everytime. The black person might well have been the best in the job but by nature the white person will say it was AA. Is that fair to the black person? No But is it also fair to give a person a job over someone else because of skin colour NO.

Please then explain to me how AA helps us with ceasing Racism in anyway.

I'll tell you why...because AA is RACISM. And if you can't see it then your blind.

As soon as something is done to abolish this Racism then South Africa will lose at least 40% of it's Racism.

No matter if it's funny or not, justified or not singing about someone being dragged behind a bakkie in a funny voice is wrong. And when ppl start gathering infront of courthouses and at political gatherings singing this song then the govt has to do something about it.

Untill then then they have no right to decide what someone is allowed to keep on a cellphone.

Child pornography? Of course it isn't produced by that person, they are just holding it on their phone, maybe sharing it with others.

Of course there are limits to what you can keep on your cellphone.

Fair enough, I didn't even think of associating child porn with undesirable or racist ringtones. I meant that the govt has no right to censor what music someone chooses to listen to.When they start censoring what music or literary content you are allowed to keep on digital media where are they gonna draw the line?

Given that South Africa is one of the most racially diverse countries in the world, if you have a problem with people of different races you're definitely in the wrong country anyway.
