Last year there were plenty of free magazines and cost effective gadgetry. The old free mag I got was a diving magazine ... and I am claustrophobic underwater :sick::o

Diving at a tech and gaming expo :confused:
 
I want her to be exposed to technology and she loves Wii but I question how they justify R 50 for any kid under 10. Smacks of daylight robbery. Pity.
 
Yeah. I had to stick stickers on myself to win a 4850. I lost but cause i wasn't motivated at all. If anyone saw me i was the asian in light blue =P. Rage gets gayer every year. Not going ever again. Hot girls? There was one from MSI. Everything else includin the cosplay failed

the only reason we went was to play COD 6 demo and we get there and the dudes at megarom stand said oh no, sorry no demo...so wasted R150 on entrance

looked busier than last year but nothing much to see, got Fifa10 from BTgames, at least they were doing at R600 (same as Kalahari)

oh yeh and free hair gel, that was weird ...........

so next year is probably a no-no
 
How much does it cost to exhibit at Rage?
And why aren't the likes of prophecy and Digital Addiction exhibiting?
 
It ends up costing over R50k to have a stand at Rage...including the rental of the space, the stand itself etc. Never mind the time/effort etc.

I dont think its really worth it.

They supposed to use Rage as a showcase for new tech, games etc....and this year they had almost NOTHING to show. I was there for about 30min and left. Nothing worth seeing. The same items being sold over and over again.

Boring.

They need some cool/cutting-edge gadgets etc.

I was also really looking forward to seeing it but couldn't find it...now I know why:rolleyes:

We walked up and down "trying" to get some value out of it but it only really took us about an hour or so as well.

We should really write up a petition and then send it to the organisers...no jokes. Who's for it....?
 
I have to say I agree, I was there yesterday and it was pretty much exactly the same as last year, even down to where all the stalls were situated. Other than a new game or 2, there really was nothing amazing.
 
I was there two years ago and it sucked back then (the expo anyway). Seems like it's only really fun for those attending the LAN. I thought it was a rip off back then (for what I got out of it) and thanks to the info presented here it seems as if I safely skipped again this year.
 
Not a total waste of time but nothing amazing either.
For those of you who didn't get to go, you didn't miss much.
 
Yeah I was also there 2 years ago.. and it was average at the VERY best.... and I was even working at the expo..
 
I didnt go this year for work reasons, but one thing I enjoyed last year was the farcry 2 presentation- (first time in Africa sneak peak by one of the developers) thats the kind of thing I would like to see more of at future expos
 
and in the next edition of nag they will say another resounding success, whether there is a 2000, 5000 or 10000lan doesn't make it a great expo.
 
The Network at rAge this year was not up to scratch it fell over about 3 time this weekend
 
Boring, overpriced and a big let down.

Giving it a miss next year...
