Raidmax Smilodon Chassis vs Coolermaster CM690 + Window

Well where did you get it Kuga?
Was it the black edition?

Got it from a local PC shop for R975, and yeh it is the black edition. Woke up too late to phone a place that does laser cutting, wanted to find out how much it would cost to cut a blow hole for me.

*shakes head*

you don't need a blow hole - the case is pretty cool man. if you really want to go through all the effort why didn't you just go for a watercooling case?

EDIT: What are your temps currently at?

Rawr!

Couldn't afford a water cooling kit. Otherwise I would love to get water cooling. Haven't installed my PC in the new tower yet, waiting to get my stuffs from Sybaritic before installing everything. Just figured it would be easier installing everything at once.

I dunno, I always like to mod my stuff. I'm one of those types of people that, when get's something, has to take it apart and modify it to make it better :P

I'd like to paint the insides black though, even if I don't get a blowhole cut. Just gotta wait till Monday to see how much it will cost to get it done professionally. Last time I painted my case it ended up in a disaster, so don't wanna take that risk again on a new case :P If it's too much I'll leave the case alone.

However, my mates were like, dude, just leave the case alone. You spent so much cash on it, now you wanna go fk it up. >.>

they're right. :p

you haven't even seen any temps and now you wanna go start cutting blowhole's and shett?

install the hardware first, run temp monitors and then decide....rather spend the cash on a Dedicated CPU Cooler..

Remember, these cases ARE designed with airflow in mind, not saying you gonna screw the airflow up, but yeah - put the stuff in first.

I installed everything into my PC.. Encountered some problems. That arm with the fan that runs across the panel I had to take out, those 3 thingies that can move are in the way of my gfx card, doesn't fit.

Also I have no where to hide all my cables when I tried to do some cable management.. Me thinks the CM 690 is looking bit better at the moment =/

Yeah.. The only problem with 5.25" controllers I've found so far, is that you can't go from completely off to max. The ones I've found are the Vantec and Zalman controllers, they go from 7V to 12V. Not 0V to 12V. Otherwise yeah I'll go for that size then and get that case. If you can help me find 5.25" controllers that can be turned off completely, gimme a shout please.

*edit*

It has to be black as well. :D

Have you checked the Zalman MFC1? Seems like you won't be able to turn the fans off as you mentioned but even at low speeds you can't really hear a thing.

Got my CM 690 yesterday, been browsing the net the past 2 hours looking for ideas to mod my case.

I'm contemplating whether I should get the following : Red LED fans, Red Cathode | Blue LED fans, Blue Cathode | Or go for UV reactive stuffs, UV fans, UV sleeving etc, already have 2 UV cathodes.

What do you think would look the best?

Also which controller would be best? The Vantec NXP-305 Nexus Fan and Light Controller or the Zalman ZM-MFC1 Plus Fan Controller ?

Am thinking of getting 3 x Lian Li BS-05 140mm Case Fan for the top 2 exhaust, and the bottom fan. And then getting the above mentioned LED or UV fans for the front, back, and side panel.

ok, dunno what gfx card you're running if those things are in the way - did you know they go in AND out ?
who cares about that panel anyway - many people remove it so their Hardware is more visible.

about the cables - try harder then. cable ties are your friend. hide 'em in the empty Drive bays - some fit behind the mobo tray even. do you have a modular PSU?

edit: see you got the CM anyway :D

donate the Dirktooth chassis to a poor buddy
