Ok, but is it a known issue being worked on?
Everyone who got contacted by rain to fix this problem got their lines fixed temporarily then it got worse. I'm scared mine will get worse if they contact me too.

Depends on where tower is. Your neighbour within radius of the tower.

I luckily fall within coverage for 5G but just a block or 2 away its only 4G.

I've been really happy so far. I activated two days ago. And the router is inside the house, lol. The ping is usually 15 or so - I've been hoping for pings less than 10, even though I'm not gaming (yet, I want to start in the near future). This is on the 5G Home package. I'm in The Reeds, Centurion. It is supposed to be throttled to 30mbps.

No issues whatsoever with streaming; there are two of us constantly on social media and Youtube. It streams in 720p / 1080p no problem.

Rain has their own speedtest site when setting up the router, and it tells you what speed you could be getting if you were on the premium package. I could be getting 140mbps if I go onto the premium plan. It makes me salivate, lol.

When you say that the router inside, is there no antenna?

Got an antenna with my Telkom 3G fixed LTE.

The point is people get decent speeds where others don’t it’s simple like that
If majority poor service ... statistically odds against a new subscriber, thus pointless investing in a service.

Some services tend to over commit ... resulting in poor speeds for the majority.

Thanks

Yet the we can’t resist the fact that it’s 250 for what we are promised and pushing this service and showing adds about it all over that’s how we get trapped

Thanks

Yeah, I was kinda stressed about whether my service would be good or bad. Turns out it was good, yay!

What helped tip me over the edge to try, was that there are no fixed contracts, and I looked on my local FB groups and did a search for "Rain" / "5G". I saw that 90% were very satisfied, so I thought it worth the shot.

I'm glad I went for it!
