Rain 5G Winter Promo

And im out, no way of internet during loadshedding it seems for me :(

Mtn is only provider that has backup in the area.

Telkom adsl batteries stolen long ago.
Cellc dead
Vodacom hardly any good even when there is power.
Telkom LTE last an hour or so.

i havent tested rain 4g but a buddy of mine recently got 5g and he gets around 400mbps and he is just outside the coverage like me.
yea we are far far from 5g and barely in 4g. thought I would see if I could get the special but it tells me to sign up for when coverage is available in my area.

I just received my Rain 5G indoor Router, and placed it on the same spot as my MTN B612.

Testing over 5GHz Wi-Fi:

Getting much better speeds, and proper routing with Rain. I will be cancelling Supersonic very soon.

Yeah just make sure it works during loadshedding, I cancelled mine and back to Supersonic. Due to it being dead during loadshedding

I can use my phone as a hotspot during load shedding if Rain goes offline, so not really a big problem for me tbh. The speed, and proper latency I get with Rain is much better compared to Supersonic, and that is enough reason for me to cancel Supersonic.

I'll check later today if my Rain stays online during load shedding. Will report back :)

Rain 5G still online during load shedding:

My signal goes for -79 to -109 when its load shedding on my 5g then i use the works rain uncapped 4g on ups for load shedding times :) not the 300 down but 10 which is okay i guess.

If the Winter Promo becomes permanent and the CellC Home Connecta Flexi comes to an end at the end of September, I will give Rain 5G a go before reverting back to Vumatel Fibre.

Rain are doing exactly what they set out to do. They have blown the market for mobile connectivity wide open. For data use. At an affordable price. People sign up and are being introduced to Netflix, dstv and other services via a dedicated data sim.
Yes, in many cases the service has degraded beyond the bare minimum.
But for many, it works.
Now, they have the perfect channel to do the same with 5G. Before other providers.
They have upgraded the prepaid market much faster than what the older mobile providers were going to.
In that sense, they are successful.

True … and this is what I’m so excited about

Rain now has 5G in our area as well have you seen?
I only noticed ones I checked for 5g … which I only came to realise now … but it’s so nice to see they are upgrading towers …
