The farmers in the Hanover district are really suffering. On the farm where I am at the moment, they are distributing 4 tons of feed per day, 6 days a week to keep their flocks going. The sheep are in poor condition, lambs are routinely abandoned by the ewes. Can't go on much longer and then the herds may have to be deliberately culled. The farm dams are all bone dry. The water table is dropping as well with shallower borehole yields drastically reduced.
 
Crisis the weather in the Cape is miserable at the moment :( 2 days ago I was sitting in a pool near Beaufort West in 32 degree bliss - now in Somerset West I'm needing a jacket and a rain coat - I can't even get my work done

Not quite summer beach weather...

Ironically the longer this weather stays like this the more delayed Summer rains up north are.

We prob need a month of SE to blow, which is part of the bigger circulation pattern to bring in the summer rains.
 
Black South Easter conditions over the SW-Cape (cutoff-low). No [significant] rain expected for Cape Town itself, but heavy falls in the Overberg and along the Garden Route today (Tues 12th).

Damn, wind is pumping here by me.
Hopefully it blows my neighbour's cats off my roof and back into the neighbour's yard.
 
A pair of weak cold fronts are brushing the SW-Cape coast today (Sat 14th). The first passed over before 8am, and will be followed by several hours of mostly sunny weather (clouds over the mountains). The second front is likely to arrive early this afternoon. Very little rain is expected (1-2mm mostly near the mountains).

Another weak to moderate intensity cold front is predicted for Wed 18th.
