Rain and storm for Cpt

I suppose Spike is more on about the storm surge combined with the high swell and winds which was also linking up towards higher than normal tides with spring tide looming.

Anyway, I will bet, as a respected surf forecaster, he had his eyes on that cell with much interest considering its potential to generate swell long before anyone took notice.

My view was very much like that Muizenberg pic in your link, don't get me wrong, I'm grateful not to have suffered damage, but I was really hoping for that predicted 80mm of rain over pretty much the entire province. We're on track to fall well short of that :(

been howling here, that got me out of warm bed.
but again, hanging directly over the Atlantic guess in full force of the wind.

respect and stay warm, I am freezing.
 
farking howling like a good SE now, and pissing down. Consistent wind, landlord gonna get a bill to seal this little place up, bloody bedroom door would nod stop banging.
And I get klaped by the SE pretty hard being on the edge on the nature reserve.
over the ocean its rough.
Just hope the rain makes it to the right places.

just on 01h00, farking howling here. Thought the wind was going to back off???
SE in reverse I guess? its worse than yesterday morning
Raining like mad, can actually feel the wind coming through my flat.
Ocean louder than I have ever heard.
Greatfull I am no on a yacht out there. Nor a board.
Sandy Bay breaking about a klik out to sea, never seen that!!

Wind Chilled, rain still persistent, back to bed, as I type farking wind back, but OK. Hopefully

The SAEON Dwarsberg (Jonkershoek) mountain station recorded 40mm+72mm (112mm up to midnight). That range is the watershed dividing the Berg River and Theewaterskloof catchment areas.

The downside is that Dwarsberg has an annual average of 3,000mm (wettest place in SA), so we need a lot more cold fronts, to even come close to a normal winter.

There is no "downside" to this rain....
