Seems I was not all that far out when I said late Friday early Saturday after all . just saying ....
Yes relatives confirmed it started raining at 23:00 last night.
Hardly... It did rain a tiny bit this morning, but its bone dry in CPT. The front is still on its way.

At my sisters place, it started raining at 23:00 on Friday night. Continued for most of the night, rained intermittently on Saturday morning and then heavily in the afternoon and evening. Started clearing on Sunday morning and all sign of rain was gone by the afternoon.

The cold front moved extremely rapidly through after that.

This weeks dam report for cape town reflects a 1 % increase in levels. Not major but still good news of a sort. Presumably the weekends rainfall in the catchment areas still has to reach the dams though.

A lot of snow fell. Anyone know how much will melt and eventually reach the dams? How much of the melted snow will evaporate?

I have no idea how much but I recall with the last snow, couple of weeks back, a lot of it melted and reached Theewaterskloof dam.

It is freezing here. Century City and the CBD. Definitely the coldest week this year. The height of winter, I suppose. ❄
