Clanwilliam on a tear -> ~41,5% - has always astounded me how quickly it can fill up(and not a small dam either!). If memory serves, from a Facebook post I read, Clanwilliam gets it rain from Witsenberg area and that area had a very decent few days of rain.
Peeved that daily TWK reading is still on -> 2021-06-30 05:00 :-(

Another 1.6% increase to 84.0% for CoCT, up 8.6% since Monday morning. Theewaterskloof is shown as 87.4%, up from 79.7% on Monday (72 hours). Voelvlei is slowly catching up at 65.4%, from 61.8% on Monday.

The Clanwilliam Dam is undersized for its catchment basin, and tends to fill up quickly. The wall height extension project is not yet complete. The Berg River Dam is also undersized, partly to allow for downstream usage.
 
The SAWS rainfall data for the 10 days ending 30 June show significant rainfall in the SW-Cape. Highest include Kirstenbosch 268mm, Ceres 246mm, Paarl 141mm, Molteno (CBD) 140mm, Strand 131mm, Jonkershoek 126mm, Franschhoek 123mm, Bellville 121mm, CT airport (W/O) 106mm, Atlantis 102mm, etc. Places further afield received much less, with Sutherland 26mm, etc. Almost zero rain fell in the Eastern Cape.

Is it still raining in CT? There's not a drop of rain over here in PE (that needs rain badly). I'm flying back on Sunday and if I see one more drop of rain, I'm going to start drinking again.

It didn't rain that much and we don't share the same definition of cold but it was windy even by our standards. Any rain here would be appreciated though.

I did buy an umbrella but that was because I wanted to braai.

Those numbers are astonishing! The CoCT average dam levels yesterday (1 Jul) were based on the figure of 87.4% on 30 Jun, so the updated average today will jump by another 2-3%, despite yesterday being fairly dry.

Edit: The CoCT update today (Fri 2nd) did not include the Twk increase.

The main point is that once soil moisture becomes saturated early in winter, any rainfall will run off into the dams, and in the mountains this will persist for several days after the rain stops.

Edit: The lack of rain elsewhere is highlighted by the fact that Worcester's Brandvlei Dam, which is less than 100km from CT, but on the far side of the mountains, rose from 40% to 42.5% during the last two days.

Just a thanks to all updating the thread with latest dam levels, especially Geoff and Gordon, till our low water levels I had no real interest, now fascinated.

I've always been interested in dam levels, from the tiny ones on top of Table Mt, and upwards. Until the 2017/18 drought most people weren't paying attention, then suddenly they had to! Since 2019 levels have been satisfactory, and I haven't bothered too much. Still, it is incredible to see the levels rise after a weeks worth of rain!

Theewaterskloof has risen remarkably from 81% a week ago, to 93% yesterday morning (still rising, plus more rain today). Just sad that other areas aren't getting any rain...

Wow, a lot more rain than I expected! Puddles on our lawn in Kenilworth (first time this year), and by 9am already 40mm+ in the gauge...
