Yes, my contact informed me of a big gust a few minutes ago. Still, SsW is not Cape Town. /s

Was quiet here 5 minutes ago, walked outside to close up and it was still. But sudden short-lived (3-5 minute) extreme gusts, then settling into a more moderate wind. Very unusual...

I reckon there is gonna be a few household 'Insurance Claims' tomorrow with all this rain and harsh wind here in the Cape
 
The Dwarsberg/Jonkershoek page -> http://lognet.saeon.ac.za:8088/Dwarsberg/index.html - has been acting up of late, it used to update every hour, but now it is daily(looking from a rainfall perspective). It recorded 136.4mm yesterday. Interesting/useless fact, in the last 3 years, I could not find a previous occasion where it rained >=100mm on 2 consecutive days -> 28/29JUN21 was it - 120.1mm and 136.4mm :)

From this morning readings:
TWK @ 87.28%
Berg River @ 102.23%

Yeah, the Dwarsberg gauge hasn't been the same since the recent fires. I predicted 50-100mm over 72 hours, so that has been comfortably exceeded!

I predicted that the Berg River Dam would reach 100%, but forgot to check Theewaterskloof. Quite an impressive rise for a massive dam with a limited catchment:

Driving home from Glen Marine to Meadowridge last night around 7pm was no fun I tell you. I've driven in all sorts of weather but this one was bad.
The heavens opened as I was about to leave.
Bucketing down, roads full of water everywhere, lashing rain unable to see clearly ahead of me, aircon on to demist windscreen, was happy to finally arrive home in 1 piece )

Now that was a textbook CT winter's day!
Bloody chilly too it was.
