Half of cape town looking for snow it seems...
Yeah that is just silly
If you wanna bypass the mayhem tourist traffic I highly suggest taking the N1 all the way up and turn left at the Aquila Game Reserve sign. This will now lead you back towards Ceres and very close by is the Matroosberg Mountain Range. Only a coupla kilometres more than normal and faster as you are on the N1 most of the time

Avoid the traffic to Matroosberg

The total capacity of dams supplying the Cape Town metro increased by 2,7% in the last week, from 98,9% the previous week to 101,6%.

Voelvlei is 'only' 96.3% full, so there is still a little capacity (which will soon be filled up). The 101% figure is slightly misleading, as the excess will soon drain down the spillways. See: https://www.capetown.gov.za/Family ...and-sanitation-services/this-weeks-dam-levels

Most people head up towards Klondyke Cherry farm on the Bo-Swaarmoed Rd via Ceres, very few know you can access Klondyke Cherry farm from that same road.(R46), although 4 wheel drive is advisable.

The snow was probably at Klondyke Cherry Farm this weekend, I wouldnt be surprised.

Lekker place, you must go camp there in summer.
Lots of shade, and you can go pick your own cherrys in the vineyards, very cheap and the kids dig it
I just bought mine from the farmstall before I left as I prefer to sit around the fire and get drunk all day
The owner is a very old guy, Alan, and he walks around at sunset and comes and sits down with all campers and has a lekker quick chat before moving to the next ones. You do not see this type of cool stuff these days anymore anywhere.

Steady soaking rain here in Meadowridge for last hour or so... was much lighter earlier on since about 9am but now picked up in intensity. As forecast. )

Most people blindly follow the shortest/fastest route on their GPS. Even the smartest algorithm can't tell you (in advance) that thousands of insane snow chasers are going to make your Saturday morning drive hell...

It's been raining the whole day in Kenilworth, mostly due to orographic effects near the mountain. Only 3.5mm up to midday, but definitely wetter this afternoon.
