This morning's satellite image (8am on Fri 26th) shows a well-developed cutoff-low positioned just offshore W/SW of Cape Town. It will definitely rain later today, though the exact timing and intensity is still not clear.

Almost drove over one on the M3. Lekker rain starting up now. Really hope it sticks around for the weekend...rain runs and hibernate for the rest of the day.

The rain that was forecast with 60-80% for a few hours starting 6pm is nowhere in sight...

A brief, excuse for a shower around 1pm ended up making my car even dirtier in South Peninsula though ( no I don't shower with a hose next to my car if anyone's thinking )

Same in Kenilworth. Wind has been NW since mid-afternoon, so it's been a very strange event. Scattered thundershowers predicted for the next several hours.

Saturday and Sunday will be more like a weak cold-front.
