Rained earlier this arvie in Gardens, klapped hard 15 minutes ago. Seems to have stopped, a bit of thunder doing the rounds at the moment. Hoping for a lekker mountain walk tomorrow morning - always a treat after a bit of wet weather.

OK this is possibly the most thunder that I've heard in my years in CPT.
More heavy rain in Kenilworth, with two huge flashes of lightning and crashes of thunder. Definitely the most intense storm CT has had this year.
Edit: The 8pm satellite image (Fri 26th) shows the cutoff-low west of CT, but only a small patch of precipitation over land, with the heaviest rain to the south, and dry to the north:
