Been raining cats & dogs for 3 hours straight in Fish Hoek. Pool overflow drainage is either non-existent or blocked, so will need to backwash in the rain for the second time today.

Most rain this year so far?

How does this line up with previous winters?

Anyone know why we hardly ever get any proper thunderstorms? See it's predicted for tomorrow but knowing Cape Town it's probably going to be a non event.

For thunder you need specific conditions - namely hot dry air colliding with wet weather... this hardly happens in CT as we have wet winters and dry summers. So there is a very brief period where it can happen when the season changes.

happens all the time in the rest of the country because of the wet summers.

Brace yourselves, forecast for tomorrow same as today, with no abatement. In fact meant to continue to mid morning Wednesday, so it's only just started so to speak.

Certainly has set well in here in Glencairn, almost non stop although not pelting but constant rain since last night.

Temp has also dropped, but going to get a lot colder...

anywhere to check mm rainfall in Bellville?

Where can one buy those plastic rain meters?

...this is going to miss Port Elizabeth and surrounds again :crying:
We are almost out of water.
