That spot always floods, not sure why they haven't fixed the drainage there.I got stranded in Paarden Eiland. Road flooded. Water was deeper than I thought - engine completely died, and had to get towed out. My car floated when other vehicles drove past and pushed a wake of water past.
Just hope the engine isn't hydro-locked and will start once everything dries out. It's at the panel beaters for assessment.

I'm interested to see what happens at the River Club construction site. I suspect its not great, they have cut off a section of the river which would have absorbed some water and destroyed a lot of the reed bed which holds the bank. The Black river looks like it’s near to bursting its banks, another 50cm and it’s over, another day like today and its going to be a real mess out there.

Also all those vehicles parked along the river...

Yeah just as I went outside to empty the meter again. Pretty sure I'm on 77mm now in total already. That must be an outlier for the Northern suburbs not?Hail and more hail in Bellville now..
Car alarms going off..
So, the average rainy day last year was about 25mm or so.. for Bellville anyway..Yeah just as I went outside to empty the meter again. Pretty sure I'm on 77mm now in total already. That must be an outlier for the Northern suburbs not?
