16.5 mm in Vredekloof measured this morning. Was very surprised by this as well.It seemed to rain the whole night in Kenilworth, but only 13mm in our gauge this morning.
Edit: Definitely more rain in places close to the mountains, with nice waterfalls visible once the sun came out.
Should be drier from now until the weekend, with warm conditions on Sat 16th, and a gradual deterioration from Sun 17th onwards.
Today however...
Actually, it's been very dry this winter besides the odd few days of fairly ,heavy rain.
UK is on red alert for next few days, temps could reach 40C. Wildfires burning all over Southern Europe. Floods again in Germany this summer.
The weather everywhere is not what it was. I'm not promoting climate change either, but a noticeable deviation in last few years.... the earth is going through its cyclical changes that's for sure.
It looks like a drought is brewing again for CPT. PE is getting new Gariep water and CPT is getting no new water, just more people.Dammit, looking at the weekly update for TY vs LY dam %, we are significantly less at the moment. A fair bit of rain required to make the score look more respectable.

Yes there is still hope for this year, but so far its been an extremely dry year. I would say 70% or less full by December indicates a drought and 80% is safe.Forecast was for a dry start to winter, the question is if it turns around in mid-August.
No signifncat rain forcast for next 10 days (light rain sat) SAHPS is quite strong and further south this time of year.
