Man, this wind is hectic in the deep south, quite a big rooikrans tree in the garden split down the middle today. I guess that's braai wood sorted for winter. It's also just started spitting here, but the droplets are completely horizontal.

Maybe next winter's wood, probably better for 2025-2026.

The outlook has changed somewhat, with the heavy rain predicted for Sun 19th not materialising. A cutoff low will pass just south of CT overnight on Sun 19th into Mon 20th, bringing strong NW winds, and some rain during Monday. Unsettled conditions are likely to persist until Wed 22nd, thereafter it will become sunny and warm.

Yup, much cooler. I'm not sure what that means for the winter but they are predicting low rainfall.
