Persistent rain has set in overnight (into Mon 6th), with winds from the south, as the cutoff-low slowly unfolds. Recent forecasts show several days of unsettled weather for CT, though the heaviest rain will be along the southern Cape coast.

Edit: Rumble of thunder and lightning in False Bay direction.

Edit #2: Dry at dawn, but waterfalls visible on eastern slopes of Table Mountain.

I made the biggest mistake of falling asleep while leaving the hosepipe on topping up my small pool for 7 hours. 7 hours of the hosepipe running. Besides the huge waste of water that somehow got absorbed by the earth and didn't flood my garden, please let there be rain to flush my conscience of wasting precious water during that time. Not sure what my bill will be next month, but never done this before. Feel so guilty wasting so much water. This happened 2 weeks ago, and I still can't sleep well knowing what I did.

So please let the heavens open up this weekend and top up our dams for the water I wasted.

That water bill is going to hurt. Water and sewerage combined will probably be and extra R1800 to R2200.

The SAWS reports significant rainfall in parts of the Overberg and Little Karoo during the 24 hours to 8am on Mon 6th. Highest include Grabouw 84mm, Stilbaai 79mm, Jonkershoek 68mm, Swellendam 64mm, George 57mm, Riversdale 56mm, Oudtshoorn 52mm, etc.
